You know, going by what you just reported Alvse, the government would look at this rally as nothing more than a waste. For this rally to have any credibility it needs to have a wider cross section of the community anticipating. People older than 50yo mostly from the western suburbs is not representative of all people who have interest in the waterfront.

Now it's just the organizers left packing up, and maybe a handful of people. There way a placard say "say no to loss of trees" or something to that effect... Lolz

Haha that was today? I had no idea. I went up Riverside drive a little before 11 and didn't notice anything unusual, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

I saw an ABC vehicle there and camera man...

Also... When I was arriving, a group of about a dozen oldies where crossing the road. There was an old fella looking really red faced angry looking back at the grass nostalgically... Lol

I popped down for a bit of lol - kept separated from the rally. I am not an expert at counting - would say there was less than 1000 people there. Whingeing about traffic, wingeing about the heritage of the site being lost ("sense of place", the Apollo 2 astronauts were welcomed there, etc) and then some old army guy was going to prattle on about the Anzac Day gathering and I left not being able to take it any more. Wandered back through the city and there appeared to be more people in the malls shopping.

I think this forum (WA section) may have more people than that.

I knew it would fail but I honestly thought they would get more people than this pathetic turnout. I'm sure Bart will be in the official count.

Nice photos, 2 and 3 really show the essence of what they're trying to save, vacancy and freeway traffic.
