Fantastic shots of both Turin and Milan - these are both cities I'd love to visit which I was quite close to when I visited the Gran Paradiso in 2006. The lightning shot in your first batch looks spectacular - such a serene foreground and such a viiolent looking storm in the background. It makes the lightning here in the UK look like a bit of a piss take in comparison :P.

I am sorry to say that but... Nutella's HQ are in the Cuneese region, there's anything "Nutellish" in our town unfotunately.

I'd say Turin is quite beautiful. The baroque architecture makes for a uniform looking city center. I'll dig up some more pics tomorrow which may show this better.

Though in the first pic Po river seems to be a bit Nutellish

Fantastic, Mr. Protektor

All I'm missing now are the infamous Canaletto views of Torino.

Is it not a Bellotto (not Canaletto) picture the second one? Infact the man dressed in black at the bottom (third character from the left) should be Bellotto himself. But maybe I'm wrong... (sorry in that case for my post)

yes indeed. And you haven't seen it during this and last years' floodings, it was the same colour and smelly as....well, mud.

I think it's necessary to knock down some buildings for those views.

More from Turin:

I really thought Piazza San Carlo was the nicest square. Vittorio Veneto was beautiful as well but almost too big. I did not check out Lingotto though.

3 more from Turin:

and 3 more from Milan:

Well, in german-speaking countries and Mitteleuropa Bernardo Bellotto is often referred as Canaletto too ("Bernardo Bellotto genannt Canaletto"). He was Canaletto's pupil and nephew actually, and sold his early works signing as Canaletto.

That's the "beauty" of living in a sort of "bowl basin" taking all the heat from the Mediterranean (making it a bit muggy in the summer) whenever a cool whiff from the Atlantic whizzes by

Ka-boom. Lotsa of energy being released.

Nice set of pics, Kampflamm!
