Facility wise zones have provided A1 class facilities to lower grade stations too.

Mangalore is an 'A' class station.

Dear, I think that out of those 6 A1 stations, two are in Chennai itself ie. Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore. Mangalore is an A class station. The list would go like Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Coimbatore Jn, Madurai Jn, Trivandrum Central and Ernakulam Jn.

As I said mentioned earlier in my post, mangalore was my guess since I was not able to locate 6th one. From above posts, chennai egmore fills the space. So that solves the 6 A1 class station. But chennai egmore station is highly underdeveloped compared to its counterparts.

Considering this, can we expect the Chennai-Trivandrum A/C Duranto soon?

As per railway policy being followed in past, new trains have to be introduced by end of fiscal year .. for 2011-12, today is the D-day for implementing the new trains announced in 2011 budget including Chennai-Tvm duranto..

Well, I never brought in a comparison with ERS/ERN nor do I believe that there is any clarification needed onto why Ernakulam stations are less profitable than TVC.
Revenue from ERS + ERN is very much higher than the revenue from TVC + KCVL. Thats what I meant.

Well, As per my knowledge, the revenue of stations are not summed up. The basic logic is wat u lack, or u deliberately pretend to lack. My point was clear in my earlier post. Scroll up to read it again.
And even with your logic, i dont think that ERS+ERN would be VERY MUCH HIGHER than TVC+KCVL. It is just your thought that u ve put forward. If u speak with legitimate proofs, I would agree.

Correct. If that is the logic of summing up the revenue, then why the split up of revenue under each stations in a city rather than city wise..eg:- Instead of Chennai Central & Chennai Egmore, it shall be Chennai alone as per his logic...

Anyway, his intention is something else which all know very well...Let him blabber whatever he wants...Leave him.

The Southern Railway is a gateway of south India train network. Therefore it is upgrading its covering stations as world class standardization. In this row first name comes of Trivandrum Central railway and Chennai Central station, which are being upgraded. The Chennai Central station and Trivandrum Central railway stations are the most profitable source for Southern Railway.
