When it seems enough to dispose off pending grievances from Kerala on lack of railway facilities submitted so far, MOSR and his officials are making a mockery out of hearing grievances by travelling on a special train.

Pending grievances from Kerala so far include:
- lack of unreserved coaches in Malabar express, chennai mangalore exp, execuitve exp
- Inadequate coaches and poor maintenance of intercity/parashuram exp.
- Shoranur Mangalore & Ernakulam Kayamkulam Doubling
- Nilambur Nanjangud rail which reduces 150k m to delhi.
- More passengers to Bangalore from Kerala than to Chennai, but only one daily train to bangalore available. More than 300 buses ply daily to Bangalore from kerala.
- Only 4 out of 7 unreserved ticket counters functional at Thiruvananthapuram central which is grossly inadequate
- Palakkad coach factory, Cherthala boggie unit, Nemom coach workshop, MEMU shed, new rail zone are all remaining in paper.

so what is this E Ahmed trip meant for, when high prioirity grievances are still pending with railways for years?

Right terminology, Biju.
Better he made a trip from Tirur to Podanur by a Wagon.
Atleast it would help him to get more votes from Malappuram next time.

He is doing nothing, but he is making hullabaloo of baseless offers just to win peoples mind. these behaviour is making bad image to him outside Kerala. as peaple from out side the state think he is more acting as a Minister of (Kerala) State. just as we see the discussion in TN railway thread.

Remember the press conference conducted by him just after he took the oath as minister of state. (it is said that Mamata was unhappy with that press conferance)nothing hapend. and all of his offers were wiped off by Mamata's budget. hence budget offers some other thing which was not mensioned by our minister.

There is limitation of being a MOSR unlike the powers of cabinet minister Mamta'ji. But still he can do a lot for Kerala railway development if he wishes to. Let us wait and see.

Furthermore Kerala has better rail infrastructure than other states particularly TN. Even small towns in Kerala have better connectivity than CBE. Recently in railway budget CBE was not included in list of 50 stations for modernisation. I strongly suspect this is because the rift caused by Salem division and some Kerala officers influenced this neglect.
Even in Aviation sector Kerala is only state which have 3 intl airport and 1 is upcoming. Highly urbanised and industrialised states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, AP and TN also don’t have this facility.
Even though there are not much powerful politicians from Kerala, IAS and central govts officers from Kerala doing much more welfare to their state.
What's the reality ?!!!!!!

a victim of so called hullabaloo.

when we asked for a seperate zone, authority said it is not poosible because railway zones has nothing to do with state boundaries. it only consider the connectivity and size of the zone, bla bla bla

But when TN asked for a seperate divison carved out from Palakkad just because of Palakkad is in another state. every thing has changed, now where is the morals of Indian Railways gone????

Another publicity stunt.(sorry mods, I don't want to translate it)
This is just for vots. and Personaly I think it is unfair as a Minister of whole of India to comment like this. ( He canot, or will not do it-THAT is a ifferent matter)

But this type of irresponsible comments will damamge Keralas & his own image out side the state.

Guruvayur-Tirunavaya rail line soon: Ahamed
Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009

Thrissur: Union Minister of State for Railways E. Ahamed has said that the Guruvayur-Tirunavaya railway line may soon be a reality.

He told mediapersons at Thrissur railway station on Tuesday during the Jana Sambakka Yatra that the Railway Ministry would clear hurdles before the rail line project.

He responded favourably to the demand by passengers that the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam Vanchinad Express (6303/6304) should be extended to Guruvayur.

Responding to a memorandum, he said the four additional bogeys being run between Madurai and Chennai in the Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express (6127/6128) would be included soon for the entire course.
=================================================

Vanchinad express is maintained at ERS now during night. Guruvayur doesnot have maintenance facilities. So, if Vanchinad has to to run to GUV, maintenance has to be moved to TVC, where there is no further space.

Looks like our manthri'ji has started firing empty bullets..

Kerala kaumudi news report translated:

Another Jolt to Thiruvananthapuram - Move to shut down coach maintenance centre at TVM

Maintenance of Parashuram express , done at TVC till now, has been moved to Mangalore from today. Moves are ongoing to shift maintenance of Kerala express to Chennai. Maintenance of 20+20=40 coaches and 10 spare coaches of Parashuram express is moved to Mangalore from TVC.

With the reported move of Kerala express maintenance also to Chennai, the coach centre at TVM in existence for more than 40 years and with more than 1000 employees along with 200 contract employees working there face uncertainty in their jobs as well as paving way to derail the operations of the TVM coach care centre.

These moves are aimed to scuttle the proposed coach maintenance depot shifting to Nemom ,as part of TVM rail development. It is accused that Chennai and Mangalore lobbies are behind this move .

So the existing primary maintenance rakes of other train of TVC will be maintained in Arabian sea?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

How a media can write like this?

It is the part of optimal rake utilization and not the mtce shed closure ceremony. I can tell because of this RSA, one complete rake will be saved and that will be utilized either for Mangalore-Trivandrum new train or increasing the frequency Mangalore-Chennai tri-weekly to daily or any other new train from Kerala.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason for shifting the maintenance of Kerala express from TVC to MAQ is to give some space for Calicut JS to be maintained in TVC, to create a space for Calicut JS, now one train PM is going to MAS and it gives one more rake.

When the media wrote about Mangalore, Chennai lobby, it forgot to write about Calicut lobby which was behind the this PM shifting of Kerala express to MAS.

It is special train for onam. The regular trains are full long back for onam. So many special announced from Chennai to TVC.

And SR can only operate special from Chennai or TVC or MAQ or TPJ where they have extra rake. If they want to operate SBC_TVC the SWR should step in where they own rake in SBC/YPR.

Now there is no extra rake in TVC for SR, so TVC-SBC special cannot be done and from with extra rake in ERS, ERS-SBC specials are on tracks.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the traffic from Chennai to Kerala is much higher than the traffic from Bangalore to Kerala.

I have a different opinion Arul Murugan ,off course Chennai (or Tamil Nadu) having more number of malayalies than Bangalore, but the employed kerala youth in bangalore is more often travel to kerala. And the huge majority depending on laxury travels and public transport systems. (and even private vehicles-cars).

Just have a look at the schedule of Kannur - Yashvanthpur express. How dare it is, the lone train from Northern Kerala is not connected to Bangalore City or KR Nagar and don't have a stop anywhere near the major city in its route,Coimbatore. It is scheduled to avoid some passengers.

Did you smell some lobbying ?

Just add more reality, Kannur-YSR train has no schedule on friday frm banglore, friday has peak traffic of the week, whole of the north kerala depend on bus mainly, to make things worse travel NH 212 is blocked at night. Its really horrible.

Arul, the things you said does not reflect reality, the so called "calicut lobby" its so funny when we hear that. If you have been to north kerala you can see the pathetic state of the railways here. Tamil nadu enjoys much better facilities. I have lived in chennai for 2 years and travelled to kerala lot many times. Now I am in bangalore for past two years. I can really feel the difference.

And I still remember how salem division was carved out, lot many infrastructure was sucked out from palakkad division with too much urgency.

If every state have their own railway zone why cant kerala ask. If you see railway map of india with railway zone, Most of the states has almost have a railways zone. For southern railway almost every office and infrastructure is in TN.

And I dont think Ahmed is doing great things to kerala. If he was really doing like previous railway ministers, there would be a kerala railway zone by now, just as salem division formed.!!!!
