I guess transp minister will take steps to set up SETC depot at Karur. Tiruppur, Erode and Hosur also needs this depot.

Chennai-Bangalore SETC buses can be maintained at Hosur and it can be operated as ordinary bus b/w Shanthi Nagar and Hosur.. so that empty run of buses to Chennai can be avoided.

I dont think we need in both tirupur and erode. Having it in erode is fine. Erode can take care of Tirupur as well. We also need one in Ooty.

Hosur is also much needed.

BTW when is the transport department session is coming up in Assembly?

குலசேகரம், ஏப். 14: திற்பரப்புக்கு நிறுத்தப்பட்ட கேரள அரசு பஸ் மீண்டும் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை முதல் இயக்கப்பட்டது.

இம் மாவட்டத்தில் மலையாளிகள் அதிகம் வசிக்கும் பகுதிகளான திற்பரப்பு, அருமனை, குலசேகரம், பேச்சிப்பாறைக்கு நீண்ட காலமாக கேரள அரசு பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டு வந்தன. அவை 3 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு நிறுத்தப்பட்டன. அவற்றை மீண்டும் இயக்க வேண்டும் என, மலையாளி அமைப்புகள் தொடர்ந்து கோரிக்கை விடுத்துவந்தன. அண்மையில் விளவங்கோடு எம்எல்ஏ விஜயதரணியும் இதுதொடர்பாக கேரள அரசுக்கு கோரிக்கைவிடுத்தார்.

இந்நிலையில், கேரள அரசுப் போக்குவரத்துத் துறை அமைச்சர் சிவகுமார் நெய்யாற்றின்கரையில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் கொல்லம்-திற்பரப்பு தடத்தில் புதிய பஸ்ûஸ இயக்கிவைத்தார்.

இந்த பஸ் திருவனந்தபுரம், களியக்காவிளை, மார்த்தாண்டம், குலசேகரம் வழியாக திற்பரப்பு வந்தது. திற்பரப்பு பகுதி மக்கள் பஸ்ûஸ வரவேற்கும் வகையில் ஓட்டுநர், நடத்துநருக்கு சால்வை அணிவித்தனர்.

இந்த பஸ்ûஸ திருவனந்தபுரம்-திற்பரப்பு தடத்தில் தினமும் 3 முறை இயக்க மக்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர். மேலும் திருவனந்தபுரம்-பேச்சிப்பாறை, திருவனந்தபுரம்-அருமனை, கோட்டயம்-குலசேகரம், நெடுமங்காடு-கன்னியாகுமரி ஆகிய தடங்களிலும் நிறுத்தப்பட்ட பஸ்களை மீண்டும் இயக்க வேண்டும் என அவர்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.

Thanks for the details. There was a huge fleet shortage in SETC and they stopped many services. Now SETC will be getting brand new 473 UD services. I hope they will bring back all those services with their new fleets..

Some of the services which are stopped in my areas..
1. Pollachi-Chennai.. During TTC days we had one at 4.30 PM and 6.30 PM. Later 4.30 PM guy was stopped and 6.30 PM guy was rerouted via Tirupur, Salem. Now both were stopped.
2. Pollachi-Bangalore - There was one day time service and this was even there in TN-KA interstate agreement. Now it is no more. They can reintroduce it via CBE/Tirupur.
3. Pollachi-Tirupathi. This was also there in TN-AP interstate agreement. Now it is totally stopped.
4. Madurai-Ernakulam via Palani
5. Madurai-Guruvayoor Overnight service via Palani.
6. Coimbatore-Rameshwaram. I guess this was extended to Ooty. They can introduce a new service.

New Services required:
1. Palakkad/Thrissur-Pondy via Palani from Pondy depot.
2. Trichy-Ernakulam via Palani, Pollachi --> This was part of TN-KL interstate agreement. Not sure whether we have any such service. Trichy guys can confirm
3. Madurai-Mysore via Palani, Coimbatore.
4. Madurai-Kollur.. I guess this will always be a dream service..
5. Palakkad/Thrissur-Velankanni via Pollachi, Palani. Nagai depot can try this out.

Mettupalayam-Tiruchendur Bus inaugurated.. - I think Coimbatore-Tiruchendur AC bus got extended to Mettupalayam now.

மேட்டுப்பாளையம் பஸ் ஸ்டாண்டில் நடந்த துவக்க விழாவுக்கு, அரசு போக்குவரத்துக்கழக கோட்ட மேலாளர், தங்கவேல், தலைமை வகித்தார். கிளை 1 மேலாளர், மயில்சாமி வரவேற்றார். அண்ணா தொழிற்சங்க மண்டல தலைவர் விஜயகுமார், மேட்டுப்பாளையம் செயலாளர் பழனிசாமி ஆகியோர் முன்னிலை வகித்தனர். மேட்டுப்பாளையம், எம்.எல்.ஏ., சின்னராஜ், கொடியசைத்து, புதிய வழித்தட பஸ்சை துவக்கி வைத்தார்.
மேட்டுப்பாளையத்தில் இருந்து, இரவு 8.00 மணிக்கு புறப்பட்டு, கோவை, மதுரை, தூத்துக்குடி வழியாக திருச்செந்தூருக்கு, காலை 7.00 மணிக்கு, சென்றடையும். அங்கிருந்து, இரவு 8.00 புறப்பட்டு, அடுத்த நாள் மேட்டுப்பாளையம் வந்தடையும். திருச்செந்தூரில் இருந்தும், இதே நேரத்துக்கு மேட்டுப்பாளையத்துக்கு பஸ் புறப்பட்டு வரும். பயண கட்டணம் 420 ரூபாய். கிளை 2 மேலாளர் ஜெயசங்கர், நன்றி கூறினார்.

Additional 20+20 buses for Tnstc SLM eager to see the beauties on road soon and in new routes.

Thanks for info suncar there is no beauty uniform guys only & salem division body design is not look attractive they will use same front profile of Tnstc Tirunelveli . Kollur-Salem service will reintroduce soon i hope because this route was intriduced by jj.

Thanks Dhandapani sir for new SETC pics nice shots as well as info of this bus our transport minister introduces new Route with SLM Depot SETC this is the third bus i have seen in salem .But bad think is These guys do cut service from Salem-Karur and conductor shouted to fill seats lot of 3*2 bus availabe in this route
In this new lot buses most of the regions buses replaced old buses in Thiruchendur route.

Hope to see the re introduction of this route again. But dinamalar news confuses as they say the bus from SLM-Kollur via sathy mysore was operated in 6hrs and via MMhills Mysore it took 8hrs. From Salem to Sathy itself it wil take about 3hrs and then to Mysore will take min 2hrs I believe. Friends could you clarify me how long it would take to cover Sathy- Mysore? Mysore - Kollur running time as well.

As stated in the report Salem-Kollur bus was not operated via MM Hills/Mettur to reach Mysore. From Salem it took Erode-Gobi-Sathy-CH Nagar-Mysore route.

I had seen the timings in the information board at Salem BS.

Salem departure -12:30 PM; Kollur arrival - 4:00 AM.

TN 21 N 1480 from Tiruttani depot of Tiruvallur region in 201 Chennai - Tirupathy via Tiruttani @ CMBT. No depot marking. Tiruvallur & Tiruppur are the regions continuing with their parent division registration numbers still & are yet to get their own.
Rear profile of the same guy. Vertical danger lights seem to be odd with such a big windshield & destination board on top. They could have gone for horizontal ones or windshield on top with destination board below it if particular about a big windshield.
Spotted these SETC guys @ TPTY. Couldn't click photos since my mobile showed as "Battery low" when I try turning on my mobile camera.
9705 from TCN depot in Tiruchendur - Tirupathy. Had Vel & "7 Hills Rider" stickers.
9727 from NGL depot in Nagercoil - TPTY.
9687 from SCT depot in Sengottai - TPTY.
9892 from Salem depot (?) in Karur - TPTY.
Our transport officers in addition to their "J"alra series in MTC & standardization of maroon & cream livery to buses have developed so many "innovative" Karur bound routes by extensions or introductions to please their minister too. Saw a Trichy bus in 8xxx.

Rear profile of the same. Seems MTC has gone for MTC stickering on both sides of destination boards in front & rear windshields. This sticker is spotted in buses returning from FC, particularly the first set of buses introduced in blue line/ yellow line/ orange lines (non SLF).

Before forming new depots in tirupur or in erode setc should concentration in improving Coimbatore depot because setc is not having any sector problem like tnstc's for ex tirupur-thirupathy route is operating by Salem depot which is 120km away from tirupur but 55km is only for Coimbatore from tirupur. Coimbatore depot have high pottential from tirupur,mettupalayam,pollachi they should introduce more new routes like tup-chennai,pollachi-pondy via tirupur,tirupur-nellai,tirupur-trivandram via pollachi trissur. And also minister should fulfill our tirupur region by forming new depots in vellakoil,tirupur,avinashi. Because most of routes are operated by erode regions karur,nambiyur,sathy, gopi,depots due to shortage of depots in tirupur region most of revenue is going to erode region

SETC had MAS - MYS till 2003.the route no was 863..MAS - KOLLUR was relaunched in 2005 and was there for couple of years. Incidentally SETC had Kollur / MYS services via Krishnagiri, Hosur and KSRTC has through Kolar, Chittoor. Since 2005 KSRTC went on o dominate whole of Chennai _ bangalore sector.
When I was a frequent traveller in this route then (twice a month), there were only 3 night services by KSRTC through Hosure. (715 pm Mysore, 9.15 PM Banglore, 10.45 PM Bangalore). Rest all were through Chittoor. Since I had to get down near Bommanahalli and travelling from Majestic early in the morning was not ok for me, I used these 3 buses or omni buses. In sept 2005 One Airavat was started in hosure route (CMBT 10 .10 PM) and there used to be a rank bad bus alloted for that. Within next few months KSRTC dominance increaed several folds, not only to Bangalore but to rest of KA with chennai.

Whole of this article is a nonsense.. Dinamalar continues to publish wrong info and this piece of article is another one. Here below are some of the Kollur buses from TN that existed around 2005 - 2006.

MAS - KOLLUR (SETC) Via: Krishnagiri, Bangalore, Mangalore, Udupi (2005 - 2007)
CBE - KOLLUR ( TNSTC CBE DIV2) Via: Sathy, Mysore, HAssan, Mangalore, Udupi (still in service)
SLM - KOLLUR (TNSTC SLM) Via MM hills, Mysore, Hassan, Mangalore, Udupi (within months the service was stopped) - Personally I doubt if this same bus was the one used to start the Salem - Shimoga service.

Valid points sir. Such a big city still operated with 2 depots right? Tirupur-1(Ex Cheran) and Tirupur-2(Ex Jeeva). Even POY has 3 depots. Poy story is different.

Tirupur should get one depot at Avinashi, Vellakoil, Perumanallur and one more new depot in Tirupur. Even they can try one in Palladam/Somanur.

Coimbatore will get one new depot in Annur with their existing land and one more we can expect in their land in Vilankurichi.

Incidentally SETC had Kollur / MYS services via Krishnagiri, Hosur and KSRTC has through Kolar, Chittoor. Since 2005 KSRTC went on o dominate whole of Chennai _ bangalore sector.
When I was a frequent traveller in this route then (twice a month), there were only 3 night services by KSRTC through Hosure. (715 pm Mysore, 9.15 PM Banglore, 10.45 PM Bangalore). Rest all were through Chittoor. Since I had to get down near Bommanahalli and travelling from Majestic early in the morning was not ok for me, I used these 3 buses or omni buses. In sept 2005 One Airavat was started in hosure route (CMBT 10 .10 PM) and there used to be a rank bad bus alloted for that. Within next few months KSRTC dominance increaed several folds, not only to Bangalore but to rest of KA with chennai.

What a dominance they have now. They have buses for every 10-15 min from 8:30 PM to 11:45 PM. This will increase during festival times. Our SETC crews used to shout in Shanthinagar BS to get passengers.

1. Namakkal falls under Salem division.. but TNSTC does not operate much Namakkal-Trichy bus
2. Karur falls under Trichy divisio.. but Trichy division does not operate any Salem-Karur service or Karur-Madurai service.

So this might be compensated for Trichy division in Salem-Trichy route.

I saw a new omni bus operator called KPS travels from Salem.. they were having a AC bus and non-AC bus... if possible take a bus of them. Not sure if this operator is new or they have service from other parts of the state.

Can anyone of guys confirm if Mangalore-MDU is still operating, in reservation it is not shown, it was sad that Shimoga - Salem is stopped within few months of starting. where as KSRTC is expanding into Salem from different places of KA

Do you mean Mangalore-Madurai Sarige? Last saturday i have seen this bus at madurai. Let me recheck it again.

Not the one operated by KSRTC, the bus operated by SETC
KSRTC is still operating and is shown in reservation system
