போக்குவரத்துத் தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு பல்வேறு புதிய சலுகைகளை முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா அறிவித்துள்ளார். மேலும் சென்னை, விழுப்புரம், சேலம், கோயம்புத்தூர், கும்பகோணம், மதுரை மற்றும் திருநெல்வேலி அரசு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களால் தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் 25 புதிய பணிமனைகள் அமைக்கப்படும் என்றும் அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

அரசு போக்குவரத்துக் கழகங்களால் 300 கிலோ மீட்டருக்கு மேல் இயக்கப்படும் தொலைதூர வழித்தட இயக்கத்தினை சீரமைக்கும் சீரிய நோக்கத்தின் அடிப்படையில், தொலைதூர வழித் தடப் பேருந்துகள் இனி அரசு விரைவுப் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்தால் இயக்கப்படும்.

Routes that are more than 300KM will be transferred from TNSTCs to SETC. Worst decision.

Because of the above change Number of routes in SETC will get increased to 1761 from 905. So new depots for SETC will be created in SriRangam, Theni, DGL, Karaikudi, Karur, Erode and Hosur. Looks like a big boost to SETC.

25 new depots will be established in Chennai, VPM, Salem, CBE, Kumbakonam, Madurai and Nellai.

சென்னை : ரூ.1420 கோடி செலவில் புதிய வழித்தடங்கள் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளதாக தமிழக முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா சட்டசபையில் இன்று அறிவித்துள்ளார். மாமல்லபுரம்-எண்ணூர் இடையிலும், கொள்ளிடம் ஆற்றின் குறுக்கே 4 கி.மீ., தொலைவில் ஸ்ரீரங்கம் வரையிலும் புதிய தடம் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

So here after all Chennai-Trichy, Chennai-Salem buses will be operated only by SETC??

I will welcome this decision only if all 3*2 seaters becomes as 2*2 seater!!!!

+1 this is really good decision and automatically eliminates 3*2 seater for long distance. SETC should have ordinary type 2*2 seat without pushback for operating day services. Safer side they made 300kms so TNSTC s will not loose there revenue routes(eg cbe-mdu/try/slm). TNSTC VPM going to suffer lot due to Chennai-Trichy,Salem.

As per my assumption

Ultra delux,volvo and delux buses only going to operate by setc, other ordinary buses will be as usual by TNSTC control.

It's indeed a required move by Govt and Hats off to CM for this new transport revolution in TN. KSRTC is going to see a stiff competion from TNSTC on operational excellence.

I am not in favour of TNSTC operating Salem - Nagercoil / Rameswaram - Salem / Rameswaram - Kovai /Nagercoil/TNV - Kovai in competition with SETC operating in the same route. These are clear longroute and one cannot travel with 3 * 2 operated by TNSTC indeed it should be a 2 * 2 UD from SETC.

2 years back during DMK regime heard from SETC conductor abt 3 Acres of land purchased for New Depot in Karaikudi so i believe some the depots might have already planned during DMK regime is materializing now.

Really Very very worst decision,we can GET many negative feed backs from this.The fare will be high in SETC when compared to TNSTC.They cant provide sufficient buses.It should not work out.

may be they are going to connect srirangam directly with musiri/thuraiyur road without touching NH 45 by constructing new bridge in kollidam in western side of existing rob

It is new road connecting mahabs & Ennore Kattupalli port (162km ) via singaperumal koil,sriperumbuthur,tiruvallur,periyapalayam,puduvoyal in which 83.2km will be new road and 78.6 km of developing existing road and this will be called Chennai pheripheral road. One more thread we cant start CPR in line with ORR

This is actually a concern. there are some services which are maintained really well eg tnstc ud between tvl- chennai and ngl 555 services(ac and uds). if these services will be taken by setc then its going to be worse. i had a chance to travel in 555 AC from nagercoil to chennai and to my surprise they really maintain the bus well when compared to any AC of setc.

I don't see this as worst decision.. In the name of Bye-Pass rider TNSTC is collecting close to 75 % of the SETC fare in all the long distance buses. This reformation is required and like in early 2000 SETC should run 2*2 ordinary 45 seat bus / 50 seater with 12 M chasis. SETC is State Express Transport and should operate all Long distance to get the missing glory of TTC (Tiruvalluvar Transport Corporation)

i agree with you with regards to getting back the glory of TTC. one thing to as is even though tnstc is collecting 75% of setc fare the speed is much more than SETC and travel time is less.

Yes. Also can we see more Semi or Super deluxe services towards CBE/Tirupur from important destinations?? Waiting to see that..

Also, the press release also has a mention of recruiting of 2349 technical staffs.. This is what i was expecting a lot..

SETC should actually operate more 2X2 seaters and TNSTCs can continue operating 3X2 services. And most importantly the speed limit should be increased.

I guess this govt is doing something to bring back SETC to its glory.. Lets wait and see how it goes. If everything goes well, we can see the golden days of TTC again.

Today, I clicked some guys in Jail Road in Madurai.

TNSTC Nellai's TN74 N1532 stickering showing ECR Express between Ramnad and Tiruchendur but he was heading to Tuticorin by the board showing 223C, came to Madurai via Darapuram so he must be from a West TN location (My guess Coimbatore)
