Recently a new City bus(Normal) got introduced in coimbatore. No normal buses were added to Coimbatore’s city bus fleets for the past 2 to 3 years. This year it got 240+ JNNURM SLFs(Leyland+Marcopolo) and an year back it got 10+ city express bus services. So after long wait they added this new guy.

This bus reminded me of old CTC buses(Cheran)..

Reg No: TN38 N 2417.
Depot: Sungam-2 depot of Coimbatore region.
Route: 3D – Kovaipudhur to Ganapathy via Ukkadam, Town Hall, Gandhipuram

Again today spotted same type of new city bus with blue colour instead of yellow colour in R.No.7 Ghandhipoonga - Ghandhipoonga TN- 38-N-2435

Latest series form Madurai TN-58 N 1846 (as far as i know) and nellai TN-72 N-1436. The latest MDU was a moffusil bus between mdu to marthandam. Did anybody spotted any latest series from MDU?

Mr.Nellai u may be right with reg NO, But TNSTC - Nagercoil wont allow other stc to operate beyond Nagercoil.
Buses run beyond Nagercoil are that too only for Kanyakumari.
TNSTC- Kovai A/C service to Marthandam but it was also dropped now the service is not running
TNSTC- VPM Neyveli TS - Kanyakumari UD Service
TNSTC- MDU ( Dindigul Region Palani Depot ) Palani - Kanyakumari u can see this bus around 2-3 Pm in Nellai
TNSTC- Nellai Vallioor - Kanyakumari Via Kavalkenaru, Anjugramam

I saw the rear part only, that particular no 1846 bus i saw near marthandam don't know whether it is transferred.

Not only that they have services from Tutuicorn to nagercoil via nellai, tiruchendur to nagercoil via tisayanvilai,valliyoor.But there is no pairing services from tiruchendur or tutucorin to nagercoil.Also TN-74 occupies the most in tenkasi, valiyoor depots. Since it has region status it is allocated more buses but tutucorin, tiruchendur, valiyoor and tenkasi depots are the sufferers. Saw one bus from puliangudi - tiruchendur with reg TN-29 N-1209 dappa bus operated for more than 100kms at the same time for Kanyakuamri - Nagercoil they deploy the latest buses.

One additional info, buses under nellai still have only tickets displaying TNSTC-MDU. This is a minor lapse because of some technical difficulties- fine O.K.. But terribly shocked with nagercoil region buses, they show semozhi manadu ad behind their tickets Note: Semoil ads were intoduced in all stu's well before April 2010, nagercoil region received it only after semoli manadu. In nellai and nagercoil none of the buses had the ads that were displayed in other STU;s especially Kumbokonam, vilupuram.This is called efficient functioning of Govt machinery

You are very right Mr.Nellai Vallioor is a scrap yard, Tenkasi And Tuticorin Need more New Buses Tenkasi too Some what ok with the new buses in Tirunelveli Route, But see the conditions Of Route No 150 between Tuticorin - Tirunelveli all old dabbas and buses which run for miles to tiruppur coimbatore are running in the route now.Most dabba is TN-63N-0656 TN-32N-1171 and the other is Tuticorin - Kottarakara Interstate TN-72N-1057 it was running between Tuticorin - Kovai they can replace these bus still running the old. How can Jayalalithaa criticise the present government regarding the bus sevices,whenduring her times rickety tin dubbas were the only buses available.During the rainy seasons one had to use umbrellas inside the buses.They rarely nducted new buses.The memory of many people is short.

Most of the times I had traveled to Tirunelveli in other route buses only especially UD buses. Even in non peak hrs I haven't seen buses from both ends without people standing though we have a service every 5 - 10 mins. To get a seat in peak hrs, people used to stand outside the Anna bus stand and get into the bus when it enters the bus stand. This is high demand route so TNSTC can add maximum fleets.

That is the reason why still Tuticorn - Tirunelvely railway track has not yet materialised...

Statement by TN Transport minister

500 new buses for all over TN will be operated very shortly particularily for school childrens during morning and evening peak hours .

100 mini buses will be operted in chennai city by next month, body built work is almost over.

You can see few buses running with TNSTC-Kumbakonam(Trichy) region.. They stopped CBE-Marthandam route and that bus is transferred..

Nellai Updates
* Went to Nellai for Diwali holidays.
* Seen the following Changes
* Railway station looks so developed and clean..
* Changed the Music while playing the train time announcement...
* The music is similar to the one which will be played in Kerala cities railway stations
* Confused whether Nellai is under Trivandrum division
* Saw some of the new buses(Blue with White color line buses)
* New routes also Shanthi Nagar to New Bus stand Via Market, District Court, NGO 'A' colony
* 12B is extended up to Town. Previously it was btwn Shanthi Nagar to Junction.
* The buses are changed the words in front glasses and sides like (Tamil Nadu Arasu Perunthu - Tirunelveli)

But in city buses tickets it is still there like "Tamil Nadu Arasu Pokkuvarathu Kazhagam (Madurai ltd) Madurai".

* TNSTC Tirunelveli city buses colors have to be changed. It still look like MDU division buses.

It is High Time to Increase the Service, Apart From EEE, SETC UD Additional Sevice, During Peak Hours and Week ends Buses moving to Thenkasi, Sankarankovil And city buses plying between Tirunelveli New Busstand and Junction will also roll in Tuticorin -Tirunelveli Route, Still New routes Additional buses Introduced also there is high demand.

Pulliyangudi -Rameswaram
Pulliyangudi - Tuticorin (Additional 1 Bus)

Now 25 Route No 150 Buses are running transport minister ordered to increase the service to 40 nos, these efficient officers stopped all Route No 81 Service run between Tuticorin - Papanasam And changed them to 150 What a Nice Move.

There is one more operator by name "Greyhound" whose Sivakasi - Ernakulam service runs a 2*2 Semisleeper on this route via Mdu. Portal:www.greyhoundtravels.com.

I have once traveled in the Mdu - Ernakulam KPN service, its a more of a parcel service rather than a omni bus. It picks all kind of cargo from Mdu, Ottanchatram, Palani and starts its parcel dropping service from Thrissur, Angamaly, Aluva till the final destination. Its running time is high just because of the parcel loading circus every day.

Same is the case with Lucky travels service to Kozhikode from madurai. Fare was Rs.340.. I felt like i was travelling in a lorry.. They also played a movie till 11.30 PM in madurai-Kozhikode route. The return journey was so horrible. They played one movie(Simbhu and Reema sen were shouting like anything.. i thought some dogs were shouting inside the bus..) till 12.30 AM.. Luckily they didn't load the bus with goods in Kozhikode-Madurai trip.

In madurai-kozhikode trip, the bus was packed with goods.. The loaded the bus at madurai, kodai and oddanchatram.
