Can we try and make sure the picture loads properly from midnight. Not 10 a.m? Or 11 a.m?

Well yes, I can see it got fixed. And a lot of people got their 3 points. But can you explain this: in my case, I can read the following: "Today's city picture shows city X, country Y. Your guess was city X, country Y. You scored 0 points in this round for having neither country nor city right."

Damn, I must be so dumb.
I have always difficulties to input the right country and city code. It always says: "Wrong input, please try again."

You do know you aren't supposed to input the code, you just write the name of the city and it gives you a dropdown list of choices.

I know, but it still does not work, so I started to put the code directly.
When I write the name of the city down, it suggests total wrong things. Ex: ![]() WTF?! |

That's a common problem, sometimes you need to check to find the correct city spelling.
As an example, if you write St Petersburg, the russian city doesn't show up, you need to write only petersburg to have it pop up. For Teheran, you should instead write Tehran. It's due to translation problems. If you look at google earth, Bangalore is Banagaluru, Calcutta is Kolkota, etc.

Can anyone tell me what happens to the image of 1 March, because I have not yet received points for it, although I will give a correct answer. I saw that other users have the same problem and it has not yet been eliminated.

I just joined this thread in march 2010 and still have to check many images...
Just now i checked the image of October 25, 2009 and got a problem: I know the place, but when i type the name i just get opportunity to put in another, totally wrong city... maybe there is another (non-french) spelling of that place ![]() now my question is: (esp. to Inspektor Draguljče, FAVAustinTX, 3tmk, Lausanne, Saigoneseguy or desertpunk )1st way: do i have to search for right country and city code of the exact small town? or 2nd way: is it a part of the bigger city which is about 22km NW of the exact place? No need to tell me the city... just say: "1st way" or "2nd way" Thanks a lot guys . |

I ran into the same thing. It's probably better to type in the most familiar place name and select that code. I got technical a few times using the more correct locale and lost points. Remember that not everyone guessing has Google Earth so I kind of like the fact that they can use the familiar place name that pops in their head and win the GTC.

There is a glitch in the answer you need to get around. I don't know what shows up on your dropdown list, but the name of the city is the exact same, you just need to cross some lines to get it right.
