The interior of that building is so grand and elegant, just like the Stalinist skyscrapers. Soviet public housing is ugly, though.

I can guess that this is normal practice during performances of foreign (non-Russian) artists. Just like during performances of Russian theatres in London, Paris, etc. Nobody will specially teach English or French for this.

Socialist?

Should this thread be retitled? The architecture is from the "Communist" eras, no?

"Socialist" would still apply to many countries that are "democratic"?

Maybe I've been spending to much time in the United States where "socialism" and "communism" are frequently, inaccurately, conflated?
