How the new interior will look (not a huge fan of the colour...but I guess it fits the building better than the bright red, orange and yellow plastic they used before)

This is an example of a socialist-modern building (SoMo?) that has a clear distinction from late-century modernist buildings in the western world.

Two examples from Belgrade, Serbia. I don't know what is the first building, but the second one is Palace Serbia.

I was thinking about The Prince of Wales building in HK. Now it is the garrison for the PLA in the said territory.

The architecture itself was originally British.

With renovation and a face-lift, it now has a 1984 like authoritarian look.

The only difference I see is the red star on top.

The red star itself had caused controversy as Pro-Independence activists stormed the building during its renovation and demanded its removal.

Nevertheless, it is still a socialist architecture including the colors used.

If the building is made of concrete, than it's more brutalist than socialist.

It has been refurbished. And the fact the building houses the garrison of The PLA, than it is socialist.

China is a communist country!

Would be interesting to see more Chinese commie stuff, my feeling is that it's quite different from Eastern European stuff but I'd rather learn than presume. I'd also be interested if there are difference inside East Asia, like for example Vietnamese architecture when compared to Chinese.
