I'm so glad they preserved the original design in the restoration. They could have easily covered it in random cladding or those terrible clunky white PVC windows.

It is a protected monument, so it won't change fortunately. Now there are offices, but it used to be a 'shopping center'. My favourite toy store was there .

They added the terrace, as visible on the third picture, by digging to the cellar. Down there they have made restaurants.

This used to stand on the place before the war:

After the war a few more buildings were demolished to make place. Since the 50/60's there is a big free piece of land next to it, which might soon be sold to build luxury shops next to it. The street itself will be a modernised pedestrian area soon. But that's off-topic .

Maybe because it's in the Baltic Sea ? All the legacy of the former USSR is left abandoned in the baltic states, except the high buildings like the Olympia Hotel in Tallin or the Latvian Academic of Sciences in Riga. This could be some exception... unless it's in Russia itself, who also have baltic shores...

These are the sites that have been presented here. Unfortunately, the socialist monuments from Slovenia, Macedonia and Kosovo didn't had the chance to be shown, but since Macedonian socialist monuments already have been posted on this thread, I don't think you've missed much, except the monuments from Slovenia and Kosovo, although I believe that they also have been posted here previously.

The Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Macedonia in Skopje. Can't find information about the architect or the year of the construction, but according the look of the building, I think it's been built somewhere in the 1980's.
