My native city Vanadzor (Armenia) was a small town called Karakilisa before 1920's. Its population of about 5'000 was massacred during the battle of Karakilisa in 1918. After the sovietization of Armenia it became an important industrial and cultural centre with the second largest chemistry factory in the Soviet Union. During the construction booms in 1930-s and 1950-s Vanadzor (then Kirovakan) became a well-planned city with broad streets and avenues, a lot of large parks and squares. I am proud that the peaces of socialist architecture are very carefully looked after. After the Spitak earthquake of 1988 which destroyed 1/5 of the city some buildings were restored to their original condition without making any changes. The cultural centre is an excellent example:
The Culture Center after 1988 earthquake

The Culture Centre after restoration.

Some soviet bus stops (I know that we've already presented them on this thread, but I believe that some of these are posted here for the first time). On the lower left corner of the photo you will info about the location of the bus stop.

The globe is cool, but the building itself is lame.

I disagree with you. The windows are shaped like TV sets, which gives this building a certain charm, especially when you know that it's a HQ of a news agency.

Typical lowrise building from the socialist period of Macedonia. This one is located in the city of Bitola and dates from somewhere in the 1950's or the early 1960's. This type of buildings can be found in several cities in Macedonia.

And one residential tower, or commieblock, also from Bitola. dates back from the 1980's. It has some brutalist elements.

They won't really be Brutalist after their renovation. The concrete will be covered with a white render.

You can see a tiny bit of it at the top on the left building

They're made from a rather untypical prefabs but not BÚton brut so I guess some might argue they were never Brutalist to begin with.
