Kind of off topic, but a new monument was built in Croatia in 2015 by Petar Barišić. Commemorates the cameraman Gordan Lederer who was killed during the 90s war. I wonder if they will continue the construction of such monuments like the ones from the Yugoslav era.

A slide I remember from my childhood in Bucharest will be demolished

It was built in the 60s from terrazzo concrete, very tall, very fun. Had an awesome cantilever structure. But it was actively neglected.

^ wow, that's fantastic, it's like straight from the interwar Russian constructivism.

Since they don't seem to be listed here yet: the two most famous socialist buildings in my city, Ghent (Belgium) are a bit older than what's been posted here:

Ons Huis/Bondmoyson (1899)

Vooruit (1913)

Both buildings are so called "people's palaces" and wanted to offer common laborers the possibility to enjoy some luxury and culture (take that privilege away from the capitalists). They were built by socialist cooperatives, and still have the same use they had over 100 years ago. The first one houses the socialist union and the socialist health insurance, the other is an arts center (mainly for music and theater)
