There have been a few major exhibitions of Russian avantgarde in the last few years in major European museums, unfortunately I have yet to see one. I am interested in it very much.

The first building is actually from mid 1930s and the monument is from 1902.

Oh, you mean the angel? I thought it was a second war monument too. But so it isn't. Did it have something to do with a shipwreck or so? Can't remember it anymore...

Yep, a shipwreck. It's the Russalka memorial, dedicated to a warship which sank in late 19th century.


On topic:
Linnahall - a concert and sports venue in Tallinn's port area. Built in 1980 for the Olympics, currently closed and waiting to be thoroughly renovated by some shoddy investors.
