Hello everybody,
I have some questions about Herta Berlin stadium. If there is specialists of the club and they could answer me, it will be fantastic ![]() - What was the cost of the stadium ? - How long did the stadium building (renovation) run? - What were the different steps of the building? - What was the impact of the stadium building on the different public attending the game (fans groups, other fans, partners, business seats clients etc)? How the stadium building was appreciated by these publics? - Today, are there problems with the public (tickets prices, stadium accesibility for example)? - What was the communication strategy worked up by the club? - What was the communication worked up during the building period concerning the building (creation of website/blog allowing people to look at the building progress etc)? - What communication did the club work up when the building was finished? - What were the tools the club chose for club communication (website, interviews of players or club rulers, radio, press, posters etc.)? - What were the points the club focused on when they were communicating on the stadium (architecture, finances, sponsors, etc.)? Thank you for your cooperation !!! Sorry for my poor english. |

Wonderful stadium. One of the best I've seen in my life. And ofcourse, the Nazi discussion is inevitable here. Most importantly, I think art and politics should in this case be separated. Hitler was a bad guy, with bad world views, but he had an excellent taste in architecture. There are not many examples of Nazi architecture left, but those that are still left in Berlin are wonderful buildings. Tempelhof Airport, the Japanese and Italian Embassies and this stadium. To take such buildings down just because it was build under the command of a bad guy is just stupid. These are artifacts. By taking them down people will forget about them, by keeping them up people will always be remembered. Just as we think about Napoleon upon seeing the Arc de Triomphe, we can remember Hitler upon seeing the megalomanic architecture of his time.

Filling the gap with a temporary stand is a bit rubbish. The gap has been left open for aesthetic reasons. Hence it should stay open.

Unbelievable, it just looks like any other stadium now! This was some of the things that made this stadium special. If they want to upgrade something realy, just dig the pitch out and get that running track away. I guess thatīs not possible, because that wouldnīt be a temperarely thing and I imagine this is a īmonumentī which you cannot change permenantly. |

How stupid are they? Haven't they learned their lesson? FC Herta should get the hell out of the Olympic stadium and get their own football/soccer only pitch ASAP!!! The reason why they failed to stay in the top league in the first place was because the attendance at this stadium was embarrasingly low for a big city as Berlin, especially compared to other German clubs (ALL of which are located in cities smaller than Berlin!!!) and the fans who did came and attended were useless as supporters because they were too far from the pitch. It has now been firmly established EVERYWHERE in Germany (as well as beyond) that soccer-only stadiums are the way of the future! All clubs have replaced or are in the process of replacing their old track-field ringed stadiums and refitting them or building a whole new soccer only pitch. So Herta should IMMEDIATELY plan to build a football-only venue elsewhere in Berlin and they better be quick. The fact is the Olympic stadium will NEVER be a soccer-friendly place week in week out for all Herta's regular season matches. Only the cup finals and such extraordinary matches will attract full capacity. So Herta-Berlin better get their acts in order and move to a soccer only venue, or else they WILL be relegated back to the second division AGAIN. Mark my words. |
