Are there plans to construct a cargo terminal for this airport? It would be an important part of this airport as there is great export potential for fish and other agricultural based products.

In the first Video (0:45) the guy says a construction for a cargo terminal is starting in the next few months. Though he seems to directs the camera towards the area nea the molasses plant...I wonder why they cant just use the old terminal, redesign and reconstruct it as the cargo Terminal, there seem to be enough warehouses that side already. |

I think they may be moving the airport to the more spacious side and think of fresh new structures. Plus the old terminal was so small, it looked like someone's house may be. May be they will use them as a police station for the airport or just as offices ,ay be for KRA or something. |

This is what the old terminal looks like. It's only big enough for a convinience store.

thats a nice airport it will increase traffic-with new airlines would start flying there.now they need to encourage new business to the area.yani the yellow building is tiny...its a relief Moi and his cronies are not around-they are obviously suprised at the amount of development that gone in a such short time.

Well the new one cannot qualify as anyone's house because it so much larger and looks like a modern airport as it is supposed to. So that shame of someone's house size airport is now gone. Thank Kenyans who pay taxes which have been used to build this airport and the political will that has managed to change that status and believed the potential in the area and made it happen. |

You'll get wet, but only a bit. The apron is not that big (it's barely 160m from a remote stand to the terminal-side exit). And it doesn't really rain that much or get very cold in KSM anyway. So not having airbridges was a sensible decision.
