Okay Abdo, this is obviously the location where this tower will be built if it ever does get built. Keep in mind that this satellite picture is from late 2009 so even if they have started building it wont be shown here.

Egypt69, this is where you should look if you're in the area.

I'm no Cairo freak but tahrir is on the other side of the road no? that's a different square.

That's not Tahrir Square, that's just a random roundabout/interchange that leads to the 15th May Bridge.

This is Tahrir Square:

This is the interchange in the picture that looks similar to Tahrir Square's roundabout:

I think it would take at least 45 minutes to get to Tahrir Square from that location.

Any new news involving this tower? I was actually wondering the estimated cost of this tower. My guess is around $300,000,000? What do you guys think?

I doubt we will hear much if any at all for the next 2 years or so. the Government is too busy doing ... stuff

... So I'm afraid we'll just have to wait even longer
