This is a rare sight in Toronto these days: a high school football field. Great city aerial too.

It's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th that there doesn't seem to be consensus on. Calgary looks like it will solidify 2nd going forward to 2020.

Not exactly. By city population Toronto is 3rd behind NY and LA. By metro population, Toronto would be 4th but only by a hair. Using US metro definitions, metro Toronto is around 9 million or just a bit smaller than the Chicago MSA. By urban area, Toronto would still be 4th, but would be a bit further behind Chicago.

Agree. A few years ago it was a 3 way tie for 2nd, but Calgary is cementing its claim on that spot. There's noticeable separation between it and the next 2: Montreal and Vancouver.

I put Vancouver at number 2. It doesn't have a real landmark tower, but the density makes it impressive. Calgary would probably be third followed by Montreal.

Although Vancouver has the density and the natural setting, I find the Calgary skyline a bit more attractive. Maybe is the materials and colors of the buildings or the peaks and troughs in the skyline.

One can make an argument for both. I give the nod to Calgary as it's more office focused, has more height, and more towers. The sea of glass towers in Vancouver takes the whole skyline down a few notches in my eyes. I like the Vancouver CBD, but not a big fan of the rest.

Would you say there's as much activity in Burnaby as Vancouver when it comes to 100m+ buildings?

I'd say even more than Vancouver. Itd be the next downtown in the metro region except the main office tower would still be more concentrated in Vancouver. A new 63 mixed used 190m tall tower will be added to burnaby in 2016.

Looks like Burnaby will benefit from Vancouver's height restrictions. Do you have renders of that 190m building? 290m would be nicer.

Wow, with those towers Burnaby could really stand up to Vancouver.... and might even win!
