An office building in downtown Athens built between 1927-1939 in three phases.
Desined by Vasilis Kassandras & Leonidas Bonis (who also designed Rex Theater), covers a whole block. Today is known as the "Citylink".

.
This gem is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Usually things like this remain in project form, but this one actually got built,
completed in 1934 by a socialist government, and recently restored to pristine condition.

And the city of Villeurbanne (not just this district) has a density comparable to New York,
(26,000 per square mile), as does the mother city of Lyon.

Thanks for finding this and posting it.

Garage comunale (city-owned parking) by Eugenio Miozzi, 1933, Venice

The city of Venice was reached by car traffic in 1933, with a bridge linking Venice island to the rest of the street network.
In addition to the bridge, a bus terminal and a big car parking were built.

At the moment when it was built, the parking building was the argest covered car-park in the world! Here are some pictures

Of course it looked better when it was finished.

By the way, to anyone in a city with 1920s and 30s modernist buildings in good shape, please appreciate them!! In Romania they are treated like trash, replacing their sleek black-frame windows for white plastic crap, covering them in hideous AC units, and letting huge chunks of the facade fall to the ground. You can see what horrific shape they are in here:

Only one building in Bucharest from this style was ever pristinely restored in Bucharest.

Some of them are even in danger of collapsing since they were not repaired after the 70s earthquake.
