What is your state's most important highrise/skyscraper to date??

This discussion started in the progress thread for the Austonian, but it seems like a great discussion for the whole forum. What is the one structure in your state that caused iconic change and helped to define or redefine the city and state?? Is there anything under construction or planned that you predict may be an icon for future generations?

Hm, interesting...

Well, let me show these...

Currently the tallest completed buildings, with 28 floors, in the Mexican state of Baja California. Built back in the early 80's, they marked the beggining of a highrises era in the state, and mainly in its largest city, Tijuana, where the towers are located.

They are perhaps, one of the most recongnizable features of the city.

For Minnesota it would be the IDS center:

or the one that was the tallest before the IDS center was built; the Foshay Tower:

For Florida, i guess it would have to be the Four Seasons Hotel and Tower in Miami. It is the tallest in the state and is the most prominent in the Miami skyline.

For Hamburg (Germany) it will be the Elbphilharmonie (currently U/C). The city hopes for the "Bilbao effect" with this philharmonic hall.

For Illinois, it's clearly Oakbrook Terrace Tower. Second place: Willis Tower in the city of Chicago. For those who are unaware, Chicago is a large city also located in northeastern Illinois. It's not too far from Oakbrook Terrace. Granted, a few Chicago skyscrapers approach or exceed the massive height of the Oakbrook Terrace Tower, but only a handful have achieved its iconic status.
