Gentlemen , I'm a crazy fanatic of Smooth, Beautiful, Well built Highways and Roads.

I love drive and not just driving , But Driving fast.

Btw. There is a new dual carriageway in Naivasha which is accessible from the new flyover turnoff around Delamere from the main Nairobi-Nakuru highway. I didnt get the pics unfortunately since I hadn't carried my camera with me on that day.

Is the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, a 6 lanes all the way?
How many kms of national Highways in the entire country?

I wish it was. The 6 lane highway ends around the JKIA airport and it becomes a four lane highway after that. In Kenya most highways are single carriage roads with cars going in either direction. As you approach major cities, the highways become dual carriageways to accomodate the higher number of vehicles. Though its believed that in the near future we may have a dual carriage highway between Nairobi and Mombasa.(This road badly needs one IMO).

I hope one day we will see a motorway system in Kenya but for now, our efforts are on rehabilitating our roads since they had fallen into a very sorry state of disrepair. At times driving on these new roads is almost unbelievable considering how our roads were a few years ago.

Total roads infrastructure stands at 177,765km. Interurban road network stands at 63,265km. Principal highways are 8933km. Though these stats keep changing. I dont think I have seen as much road construction in Kenya before compared to what has been happening in the last few years.

Good, 4 lanes is way better than just 2 lanes. But i understand why they did it 4 lanes. If traffic increases then they will add 2 more lanes, that's what the US does. But great that it's 4 lanes.

Do you by any chance have a Map of the Highways?
