Hi! Amazing pictures! Althought those tourist-villages are really horrible plastic kitsch. I also want to point out that Karelian architecture is not Russian, its Karelian-Finnish.

But overall quite stunning pics you got there.

I only included buildings from outside of Karelia. And one from Karelia that was transferred there from another place. Regarding Kizhi - usually Russian historical written sources told us about ethnicity of the people mentioned - that's how we know Nikon (an influential figure in the XVII'th century architecture) was of Fenno-Ugric ancestry - but about the architect of the Transfiguration church - Nestor - there is no mention of his ethnicity, which could only mean he was of the 'default' ethnicity - Russian.

That Mangazeya fortress
I find russian architecture very interesting, it's just like its location: a blend between european styles and asian styles. I love it, find it cossy and posh at the same time.
