PHASE 0 : LAND RECLAMATION

Phase 0 entails reclaiming 50 hectares of land starting from the northwest corner of Main Island and is expected to be completed in mid-2011.

The illustration to the right shows how reclamation work will progress on the first 15 hectares of Phase 0 through July 2010.

Construction on finished land will begin in the first quarter of 2010 and continue progressively as land is reclaimed.

People still want to see Mobuto's body laid out infront of them to accept that his dead, This is the main reason I say build a monument for Mobuto. Some village head seating in Equateur right now is probably still waiting just for that proof.

How many people cares about Mobutu and who is dead and left a whole nation in misery?,

Those care about him don't even represent 5% of the country. So why waste money and time for a useless person?

They can have pictures o him in their houses and wallets and cars. never in public.

Very interesting project, it will give Kinshasa different dimension. I hope DRC attracts more initiatives like this in the Gombe CBD area too to give the city a decent skyline.

Anyway,kin needs a total redesign!Autorities should start by setting up a master plan on which to devellop kin for years to come.And I would want to see kin becoming the most eco-conscious city in africa.Congo being the green reservoir of africa,we ought to build a strong green economy.

Kinshasa has the dumbest Governor of all time. Look at how dirty Kinshasa is.

Kinshasa has a Hygiene Brigade, but it never done anything, let alone making the city green. with all the money that Kinshasa generates.

Gombe must demolish all old buildings and redesign it with some green spaces and move the port to Maluku or N'sele and reamanage the river coast.

Then erase the Eastern Gheto to build 3 and 5 storey high social housing by making the people that will benefit from these housing build the buildings themselves but financed by the Government. that will improve the city's sanitation, planning and all other important social structures for the city and people.
