Lebanon’s Tallest Building Completes in Beirut
Quote:
Beirut, Lebanon – 13 June 2017

Lebanon’s tallest building has completed after a seven-year construction period. Rising above the vibrant streets of Beirut, the 52-story Sama Beirut, developed by Antonios Projects SAL, houses several components on a 5,220-square-meter property. The 195-meter tower's footprint covers just over 1,000 square meters of land, with the remaining majority of the site reserved for extensive landscaping and water features.

The tower’s design, courtesy of ERGA Group, is defined by a glass fašade from the French multinational leader Saint-Gobain, and is neutral to blue in color, varying from transparency to shaded glass.

Six high-end retail boutiques animate the ground level. Meanwhile, the project's office portion occupies floors two through 13. The rest of the volume hosts 80 residential units ranging in size and layout, topped by a 1,414-square-meter penthouse. There are only two to three apartments per floor, with the upper levels consisting of five exclusive duplexes. Each apartment offers clear views to the sea, city, and the mountains. The penthouse features private elevator access and an internal mezzanine for staff. A solarium, garden, pool, and pond are included in the penthouse living area.

Residents will have access to several amenities, such as a club spa and fitness center, a hydrotherapy pool, and a multifunction room. Seven levels of underground parking provide stalls for 700 vehicles.

The residential entrance is located at the rear access road and surrounded by a green garden terrace that extends to the inside of the building, making it completely private. A separate entrance from Sodeco Street to a distribution hall provides access to the offices and health club.

The tower has received LEED certification for its sustainable methods and features, including water treatments, waste management, air quality control, energy savings, and LED lighting, all of which save 30 percent of the building’s energy.
