The A380 has now the balls of the A350.

Only the one ball, the other 3 are standard Trent 900 engines. Not sure if they plan on adding a second nad at any stage either.

The XWB 97 engine is a lot more powerful than the Trent 900 series.

Qatar received a double delivery yesterday (MSN 008 and MSN 011), they are QR's 5th and 7th frames to be delivered.

Looking at the production list, it's quite likely that Airbus will achieve its target of 15 deliveries this year (with 9 deliveries so far and 4 aircraft already in the flightline, they only need 2 more to meet the target)

Dubai Airshow: Gulf carriers likely buyers of Airbus A350-900 ultra-long range.

COO declined to say how many ultra-long range sales could end up in the Gulf apart from “right now, we’re talking to several customers”.

http://gulfnews.com/business/aviatio...ange-1.1617492

On a side note I think Airbus will have the upper hand getting the EK sale if Boeing doesn't fulfill their request for a higher thrust version. The deal could also include a package for the A380NEO in one shot.

I think EK, and the UAE in general are also holding off orders just to see how the meetings with Bulic go next week. I also think they're delaying until the out come of the US Open Skies pans out.

Boeing have been told the takeoff thrust on the 787-10 is too low in Hot (summer daytime) conditions in Dubai and that is that. However EK don't feel enough A350 frames are in regular use yet, and for long enough, to compare fully. They might not decide on 787-10 vs a350-1000 until 2017 now. But they are inclined to order 100 of whatever they do eventally plump for according to Tim Clark earlier this week.

The A380neo is an awfully long shot now unless Tim Clark punts for 200 of them in one order and with delivery phased all the way out to 2030 by which stage he might have his new airport in DWC.

Just to annoy the Americans some more Etihad launch their daily A380 from JFK on the 01 December.

Would you spend 10s of $bns on a new airport while under the constant threat of unilateral US sanctions of some sort anyway??? And would you not hold off such a threat with a permanently imminent order for Boeing frames. ??

I see 2016 going along just like the Dubai airshow this year, not many new widebody orders at all.

First off the big ME3 have on order the 777-8 that can do the job of the A350ULR. Second of all the US is not putting sanctions on Dubai. Thirdly the big ME3s all put out the news that they are going to order Boeing and Airbus. Thats what they do so they can get the better deal from the other manufacture. Finally Boeing is putting their foot down with Emirates and not caving in to their demands. If you read reports they are saying that Airbus wants Emirates to finance the A380NEO since they are going to be the main customer anyways. Also the Dubai Airshow wont be held in 2016 it will be held the next time in 2017 since its a biannual airshow.

Emirates is deciding on 787-10 vs a350-900, not a350-1000
I think Emirates will buy 50 a350-900 rather than 50 787-10... There are many reasons in favour the purchase of the A350-900 rather than b787-10
Here's a new article from Leeham News about the Emirates' order

Didn't Emirates say they would prefer A350-1100, the problem is Airbus does nto want to make them so soon, opposite of A380 issue.

Emirates has always been pretty close with Qatar Airways, they did negotiate the 777X together for example. I'm pretty sure that Emirates will get all the real life A350 performance data from Qatar Airways. They should get very good and unbiased insight in the performance of the A350 (and also of the 787, even if it's the 787-8) on which they can make their decision. Which will probably not be made on the basis of performance alone. It might also be linked with other large orders, like the go ahead of the A380neo.

With the conversion of TAP's order for 12 A350s into 14 14 A330neo's the net total of the A350 orders so far this year has dropped into negative numbers again.

http://www.airbus.com/newsevents/new...return_id=3403

Time for some statistics:

This brings the total cancellations for the A350 to 110, still low compared to the 273 cancellations for the 787.

Cancellation rate comparison (cancellation / total gross orders [current total net orders]):
A350: 12.4% (110 / 885 [775])
787: 19.5% (273 / 1,397 [1124])
