That is good news for SAS and Airbus for A350s. I guess Boeing missed the boat with a possible deal for 777Xs or 787-10 or 9s. Maybe they will go to Boeing for more aircraft for possible fleet expansion for new routes.

Or maybe they just found that that Airbus aircraft worked better for them?

hah!

SAS is an ageing dinosaur just barely managing to stay alive in the competition against Norwegian (and to some degree Ryanair) who takes a larger and larger market share from them all over scandinavia. And the cost per seat is almost twice as high for SAS compared to Norwegian. And even the smaller Finair is much better run. Though that airliner falls somewhere in between SAS and NAS. In other words, SAS is loosing money, and Norwegian is earning alot! It is just a matter of time before SAS is no more...

Buying new planes now is just a gimmick. In 5 years I don't think there will be any SAS. Perhaps Lufthansa will buy them, but only to get into the scandinavian market.

PS: SAS is sticking with Airbus because of pilot training I think, and it is MUCH cheaper to operate just Airbus, or just boeing in terms of maintainance. And since they use Airbus now, they will stick to it.

Astonishing picture!
Hopefully Airbus will update the A380 cockpit to that design too.

Singapore Airlines has unveiled a revamp of the interior of its long-haul passenger jets, which includes changes to seats and its in-flight entertainment system.

In a challenge to Qantas and alliance partner Emirates, Singapore Airlines is spending almost $US150 million ($165 million) on the product refit, which will begin on eight Boeing 777-300 planes.

In May, Singapore Airlines made a $US17 billion order for new planes, including the stretched version of the 787 Dreamliner. Splitting its order between the world's two major plane-makers, the airline will buy 30 Boeing 787-10Xs and 30 more Airbus A350-900s.

The A350s will be fitted with the new cabins when they are eventually delivered.

It's almost been a month since the first flight. The A350 performed 15 test flights and 87 flying hours so far. MSN1 will be on the ground for the next 3 weeks, the flight data will be analysed and changes will be made to the flight computers of the aircraft. This is all part of the aerodynamic configuration.
