Some interesting news regarding QR's a350

- it will be initially flown onto intra-Gulf services for training purposes
- first (long-haul) destination will be New York, followed by european ones (perhaps London, Zurich or Frankfurt)
- it will have a 2-class layout, further details to be unveiled at the Farnborough Airshow
- QR is in talks with airbus for a top-up order (most likely for the -1000 variant)

Kuwait Airways has firmed up its order for 25 Airbus aircraft, worth $4.4bn at list prices, as part of the flag carrier's fleet renewal plan. The order includes ten A350-900s and 15 A320neo Family aircraft.

How smooth was the 787 development programme before all the battery problems? Because the A350 seems to be sailing along with very few problems.

The plane(787) entered service over 3 years behind schedule. It was hit by several teething problems during testing.

I'm sure it entered testing about 2 years late. There was an inflight fire during testing which caused the programme to be suspended and there was a structural issue in the area the wings join the fuselage as well.
