Well isn't Boeing working on a long range 737-800 to compete with the long range version of the A321?

If yes then I'm sure it could pull off coast to coast service, but then how do they manage to fly Cenral Europe to the US West Coast?

The best fit for Ryanair would be the 787-10.

Msn009 is the QR's next a350 to be delivered. The delivery is planned for June, which makes sense because it is scheduled to be sent on the Doha-Singapore route from 16JUN15. Delivery of Vietnam Airlines' first a350 is planned for June too.

I'm not a huge fan of the looks of the A350 but the Vietnam Airlines livery makes it look pretty good. And it hides those stupid goggles around the cockpit windows pretty well.

Totally agree with you on that point. With this livery, it doesn't look like it needs a shave.

I think that Ryanair will eventually put a order together for possibly thirty 787s split 8x 787-8s, 12x 787-9s and 12x 787-10s.

It is known that Ryanair is itching to get a low cost operation from select European airports to the USA and Canada. It has been said that the target price for them to operate to the USA/Canada is £199 one way or £399 return. But they will charge you for everything on the flight and for bag carriage if you need a checked bag. So your cost may be closer to what a main airline would charge in a direct flight. It will be interesting to see what Ryanair actually do with their long haul, as yes theres short haul expansion that can be done for them, but the next area of expansion in going to be Long Haul in the next 5 to 10 years with them racing towards 100m passengers.

Also, it will keep continuity with them using Boeing. Even if they use Airbus on occasion when they need to use a charter replacement aircraft.

They don't use reversers on rejected take-offs?

They do, there are plenty of pictures on the internet of RTOs with the reversers being used. This picture was probably taken just before the reversers were activated.

It's better for the passengers.
The 3-3-3 configuration is way too cramped on a 787.

I admit that 'Xtra Wide Body' is a cheesy marketing term but still, even though 3-3-3 is the standard in economy for both the 787 and the a350, the seats are wider in the a350 (18 inch for the a350 vs 17 inch for the 787) therefore more confortable. You can tell the difference just looking at the pics. The 787 was designed to be 8-abreast in economy but only JAL has followed that (if I'm not wrong ANA used to have some too)

It is called the extra wide body because the original A350 was basically an A330 Neo. When that model went down the pan, Airbus designed a new plane with a new fuselage that was wider than the A300/ A330/ A340 fuselage that they had been using for decades. Since this was a totally new model it needed a new name. The new fuselage is also wider than the 787 hence it is an extra wide body compered to everything other than the 777, 747 and A380.
