great images. Incredible mass to the finished Canary Wharf estate. Or will it really ever be finished! The Dollar Bay Tower really seems on its tod.

I hope that plan was done recently and not some years ago. We all know what happened to this kind of plans in the last one or two years. PS: thinking more about it this would probably be the first project start on a roughly (should be around the 150m mark, I don't care about a few meters more or less) skyscraper sized building (as far as I'm aware everything else going on right now had started demolition/construction already before) since the beginnings of the credit crunch..

ok here's some background. developers first approached the residents of dollar bay to buy it and develop it in 2003, 3 storey block, 18 flats, and a value in 2003 of £10.4 million. complete in 1997 with 125 year leases. and here you are -

if public consultation was done in may,and you can get the scoping opinion on it now the plans sound pretty recent. it's been a long time coming though.

The info about start dates is on the Buro4 website . I wouldn't get any hopes up for this starting in March 2010. Buro4 are the consultants of the scheme it will be up to the developers when to start this. A planning application is yet to be lodged so it would probably be next spring earliest for this to get through planning (if it doesn't run into problems). There's also the fact that this isn't an empty site.

If I was to guess I would say, provided it goes into planning soon and the market picks up it could possibly start from 2011 onward.

you're right, don't know how I missed that key facts button. It's also saying "Completion: May 2012" - unfortunately even less realistic though than the Sep 2013 from above

Gothic, it seems like ages since I contacted you about Dollar Bay. It's interesting to finally see somebody attempting to get planning. When we contacted the planners for a 50 storey building we were told it was totally ove the top. How things change. For those interested in the selling saga, look at the land registry history for E14 9YJ Lawn House Close, you can see how the flats were bought up.
