This bring good memories about the V250, who might one day also be used on Frecciargento trains.

On a side note, I hear more and more people (also not railfans) who are astonished by the very high performance of this train. Great acceleration even at full speed, there's an unofficial competition between drivers to get the shortest times between stations

Trenitalia is also pleased with the predictive maintenance program introduced with it, it's giving very reliable results.

So they gave up? My contact at ex-Ansaldo Breda/Hitachi Rail Italia no longer works there, but for another rolling stock company now.

That's not funny, it's an accident waiting to happen, like in Japan.

No accidents can happen due to this, a very restrictive safety system is in use and one simply can't decide to travel at a higher speed than allowed.
They can just control acceleration and keep a speed on the edge of what the system allows (which is well within the real safety limit anyway).

The Amagasaki accident happened also because drivers were allowed to drive beyond the posted limit.

Hello,

it's now ca. 2 years ago, that all old Pendolino "Elettrotreno FS ETR.450" have been withdrawn.

Have all those trains been scrapped or is there still one for a museum somewhere?
I am visiting Italy next week and would very much like to see one of the ETR 450...

Thanks!!
