Oh, my friend, it's real: in some countries the access to that server is strictly forbidden.

Very nice pictures and lanscapes. You must have spent a lot of time both in Italy to take them, and in NY to load them on this site.

Well done!

Milano Stazione Centrale - a superb renovation

Hi everyone, sorry for opening a new thread but I think this wonderful station deserves one.

Especially because it has been the object of a superb renovation which finally highlights the beauty of the interior. Unfortunately the outside has not been cleaned yet.

Many many thanks for the hard work to the forumer Hyperdanny: all the pictures are his as the work of putting them together. Enjoy!

PS: the renovation is still ongoing, you will see not everything is finished. More to come in the future!

I futuri ascensori, meno male in vetro…

Renovation was well-done, albeit deayed and cost-overrunned. I still don't like, though, the cleanliness standards of Milano Centrale (at least as last summer, after what I moved out of Milano). I do like, though, the new bathrooms: they are paid (€ 0,70) and, AFAIK, they have always staff there to clean it frequently. It is one of the few station bathrooms in Italy I'd dare to use without much concern.

Beautiful!

This station looks like original pennsylvania station in new york, newark penn station, grand central terminal, washington (DC) union station, 30th st station, reading terminal (philadelphia), and chicago union station.... It does not "feel" euro at all!

I mean look at those eagles, and the marble/limestone pillars...... Striking similarities!

Also, wow, hudson news??? That's insane! They are all over the train stations up near and around nyc!

This station was inspired by American ones, as you noted!
