Walking in Cali, Colombia

So I was in Cali, Colombia last weekend. Basically the Historic and business district are pleasant to walk. I was in a car most of the time (had a friend driver) in other areas of the city, but did not get photos in those neighborhoods. Some of them were supposedly dangerous to flash your camera around. With their advise I didn't do it. Also I did not get to explore some other nicer areas of the city. But I did drive by them very fast. Most of the housing is either houses of one floor with later additions on top of them. There doesn't seem to be any regulations of zonings. Most do have security bars on the windows and doors. Also there are a lot of buildings with security guards. Many of them have security fences with parking lots inside the complexes as well. Crime is still a big issue. I almost got pick pocket. We were surrounded by these group of young kids. But a cop appeared at a corner and they left. Most people have to drive in Cali to get around. Public transportation is only by buses. There seems to be new change with the addition of high speed buses, with air conditioning. They are still implementing it. Although you see many people walking, riding bicycles and motorcycles. People do tend to drive like crazy I have to say. I saw two horrible accidents. Food is cheap and really good. Most people are amazing and friendly. Most of the ones I met, invited me to their home. Well I have family and friends there of course. I want to go back! I had a pleasant time.

All those pics were amazing.... ty for sharing, seems like you learned about Cali´s history.... if you come back let us know to make a new trip around Cali!!!

Every body likes this view, but no many ppl knows this:

Early morning you can see at the bottom the central mountain chain from here, the occidental mountain chain almost 25 miles away.

You can see the modern and antique city.

You are about 100 meters or 329 ft on Cali

You can see alllllll the City from side to side.

You can see the Valley of Cauca river, the one that gives the name to this department (kind of state)

Remain this hill???

Well, takes 2 hours to climb it.

Here we are about 500 meter on the city.

You have take great pictures from my city, those are amazing. I can affirm you that you have some of the most spectacular days in Cali, because most of them are misty, and your pics are really clear and sunny... Really like this to happen... in a future I would like to bring some of my pics of Cali, first I want people to get more involve with the thread...
