Tlemcen - Algeria
Tlemcen ( تلمسان en arabe) est une métropole du nord-ouest de l'Algérie, chef-lieu de la wilaya de Tlemcen, frontalière du Maroc. Elle est considérée par ses habitants et par Si Kaddour Benghabrit comme la « Perle du Maghreb ».

Deuxième ville de l'Oranie, fière de son passé glorieux et prospère, de ses monuments et ses faubourgs hispano-mauresques, de ses sites naturels, c'est une « Ville d'Art et d'Histoire » comme l'a dénommée Georges Marçais.

Située dans l'arrière-pays, au cœur d'une région de vignes et de culture d'oliviers, elle est réputée pour ses cuirs, ses tapisseries et son industrie textile. Les influences culturelles berbères, arabes, andalouses, ottomanes et françaises en ont fait une ville au charme sans pareille.

La ville compte environ 200 000 habitants.

The site of the former city of Mansoura, three kilometres west of Tlemcen.
Five centuries have passed since the destruction of the city, and nothing is now left except the immense quadrangle formed by the ruined towers and remains of the outer wall, the foundations of a mosque and one face of a minaret, which still retains traces of the magnificence which must have reigned in Mansoura.
