OK, I'll try these...
How many check-in counters? How many "bag dropoff points" for those who check in online?

Given that baggage reclaim will be between check-in and departure lounge (in that most likely spectacular canyon one floor down) that's a lot of space underneath check-in. Will that all be for Customs? Or will the meeter and greeter hall be ultra spacious, or feature a landside shopping area?

Looking at the woodhead and wilson (interior designers) renderings (on their websites) it seems the departure lounge will be completely enclosed by retail space. Please tell me there'll still be windows out to the planes...

SIA looks set to be only one in new Terminal 3
But some of its services will remain at Terminal 2

By Karamjit Kaur
Transport Correspondent

SINGAPORE Airlines will likely be the only carrier to move into Changi Airport's new Terminal 3 when it opens its doors in 2008.

But the airline will still retain part of its business at its current Terminal 2 base, said spokesman Stephen Forshaw.

The new facility will be able to handle 20 million passengers a year.

SIA's annual passenger traffic at Changi Airport is already about 15 million and is expected to grow to more than 17 million by the time the new terminal is operational.

Whether the terminal will be a multi-airline facility is still being discussed, said a Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) spokesman.

The decision will have to take into account the projected growth of SIA's operations - and whether there is any interest from other airlines in using the terminal.

As to how SIA will split its services between the two terminals, Mr Forshaw said: 'That decision is still some way off.'

SIA said it will ensure that customers know which flights operate from which terminal, to avoid confusion.

For passengers who find themselves in the wrong building, or need to transfer to connecting flights, a new driverless automated people-mover system will take them from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 in less than three minutes.

CAAS was not forthcoming on what customers can expect at the new four-storey building, only promising that it will be 'user-friendly and designed for passengers' convenience and comfort'.

No doubt the authorities are keeping their cards close to their chests, as the new terminal is a key part of the strategy to keep Changi Airport, which offers flights to 178 cities in 56 countries, one step ahead of the competition from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Dubai.

The new terminal will also be a five-minute bus ride away from the new budget airline terminal, which is expected to open early next year.

CAAS is currently looking for operators to run shops and eateries at the budget terminal. There will be just one food and beverage outlet in the public area, while in the restricted area, there are plans for a bookshop, mini-market and chocolate/candy store, among others.

So far, only SIA-backed Tiger Airways has agreed to use the new terminal. Low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia, which was considering whether or not to make the move, has decided it will stick to Terminal 1.

The new terminal will be able to handle 2.7 million passengers a year.

Tiger's projected capacity next year is between three million and four million passengers, rising to five million in 2007, but the terminal has room for expansion if necessary.

Yup it'll be a beauty.. I can't wait for it to soar above me as it makes its first commercial touchdown at Heathrow.

My only "fear" is that the passengers will embark from the brand new Terminal 3, and land at Heathrow's old Terminal 1, 2, 3 or 4.

here it is from the other side:
