here it is from the other side:

i believe that Heathrow is renovating one of its piers at T3 to cater A380..just imagine the morning traffic for A380 there....coz SIA/MAS/Thai land almost at the same time early in the morning...
below i posted the google image for T3..i circled the one for A380 piers which is still under renovation..

SIA is really smart, by getting the first plane, they will enjoy extensive media coverage.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 Project

Illustration of completed Changi International Airport Terminal 3, Singapore.

Construction of large roof for lobby of Changi International Airport Terminal 3, Singapore.

One of the highlights of recently awarded projects is Singapore's Changi Airport Terminal 3 project. This 550,000m2 new terminal building features beautifully and uniquely designed roof structures and massive open spaces underneath.

The steel-frame of the roof over the spacious lobby area (measuring 300m X 220m) posed many engineering challenges for our team. To achieve this, the steel-frame was partitioned into 20 trusses (15m X 215m each and weighing 600 tons in total) and the trusses were in turn lifted up into place from the ground.

KEEP POSTING!!! Those are EXCLUSIVE SHOTS, PRETTY CLEAR TOO!!! THATS WHAT we need here, those interior shots...

What are you working as?

It seems those palm trees were planted there as part of a demonstration phase, together with the fake luggage...like they are demonstrating how the baggage claim area will look like of sorts in the future?

Note that escalators are also being installed...reminds me of the interior of Bangkok's new airport just a year ago.

It seems that the roof will not be fully glass covered by sunshades like that found in the Esplanade Theatres. Rather, there will be holes a.k.a. skylights in the roof with sunshades...thats what I think.

Notice there are "windows" for every "holes", I think that acts to regulate the amount of sunlight in the terminal.....
