Hasn't the "Your favorite Texas skyline" thread pretty much turned into this?

Yeah, this has turned a bit silly. I'm from Texas, and love to look and discuss Texas skylines, but how many freaking Texas skyline threads need to be open at the same time?

I actually like it, can't we let the old threads die, and then start fresh. I mean when i joined, i had to look at 20+pages of Your Fav. TX Skyline just to get a general idea, but with this thread i can look at good pictures, and with the poll i can see the general opinion, in the other thread. Let's say i wanted to see what members prefer out of Dallas or Houston, i wouldn't want to glance through 26 pages. Having 2 threads that are built for different purposes, as opposed to discuss the matter, makes it a lot easier.

I think that we've hit an overkill of Texas skyline threads. It's not just that every thread at the top is about Texas, but it's that they're all about the exact same thing..comparing Texas skylines.

I wasn't there - a friend of mine went to Houston. That's the only pictures she took while she was there at a high school reunion. That was the hotel she was in. That day was a Saturday, I believe.
I guess office towers just aren't quite the attraction (I assume they are office towers). I like pictures of the streets of cities more-so than the skyline pictures. I love both, but I prefer to see the streets though. |

Well that area of downtown is mostly office buildings, with very few eating options, so during weekends it will resemble a "ghost town".
Other areas with foot-traffic include Main Street Square, the area around Discovery Green park, which includes Toyota Center, GRB Convention Center, the Hilton Hotel, and Minute Maid Park, and around the recently opened Houston Pavilions which is right next to the MetroRail. Sometimes around the Central Branch of the Houston Public Library, and maybe around City Hall, Tranquility Park, and Heritage Park. These areas are located by where this photo was taken. But minimal compared to the other end of Downtown. Mostly festivals and protests are what you'll get for people to congregate in this end of Downtown. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Besides the Astros Game, i think these are just regular weekends/days and nights.
