Cool Parking Regulations and Services

Can anyone explain parking regulation in T&T, especially POS, and also what the city plans for on street parking (paid or not paid).

Thanks,

NE

LOL parking in POS is a mess. Way too many cars and not enough parking spots is what it basically boils down to. On the street parking is legal and free but usually, on most city streets is limited, to alternating sides each day. Having said that, most ppl generally disregard any parking rules and park on both sides and wherever they want the result usually being gridlock.

Recently however, the police have become a lot stricter in enforcing the parking regulations and the speed at which they tow cars now is quite impressive. So if u are going to take the chance and park illegally there is now the possibility of getting wrecked. The fine isn't too bad tho ($100 TT)

There is no parking meter system setup. On street parking is free, however there are now quite a few multi-story parking decks accessible to the public where paid secured parking is available. The main ones are on Edward Street, Richmond Street and Wrightson Road.
