Brilliant shots!

The stonework on the building (or at least the podium) looks very high quality!

Some questions...
Is this entire building residential condos? And what is inside the podium? Condos or offices? Will there be retail at ground level?

This building looks so amazing among all the older New York buildings in the vicinity!

I am positive that the podium uses either sandstone or limestone. while the upper floors use pre-cast concrete panels for siding. I am not sure about how the building will be used. I know it will be a hotel and some really expansive apartments there. podium should have something called ice cave - sort of a sauna but a cold one. I am also sure that the first floor maybe even the second one will be used to retail - it is %th avenue so no one will miss the opportunity to collect 100.000$ per month rent from any little store.forget about the big ones - rent probably triples there.

I think thats the whole point! This is supposed to look dated and just fit in nicely with the surroundings. Nice to see something that brings back the feeling of the past with some class.

The concept is very traditional New York with a contemporary feel, fits in really well with surroundings which is important but always ignored by egotistical architects. Sandstone base is great, can't beat natural materials.

That last shot is brilliant!

I love how the colours on the Setai seem to approximate the stone used on the Empire State Building and other art deco buildings of that era.
