It really does. A modern classic like this goes well with the neighborhood.

Also, the faceted, jewel-like windows are amazing little sculptures made of extraordinary material. Photos do not do this building justice.

The windows of this otherwise somewhat bland building makes it interesting to look at, especially from the ground. Very nice addition.

This tower is hardly bland. It has a stunning, curved base and will have a great crown.

the base is not stunning.i think zoomzoom is right. the windows make the building special. otherwise it would basically just be a box. just because the base is curved does not make it interesting, and to the contrary, it is basically just limestone, with no decoration and details. The windows really make this a nice building.

This thread should be moved to the highrise section btw since it is not 200m tall.

This tower will be over 200m. The height posted is what's on file with the NYC Buildings Dep't for the highest occupied floor and does not count the crown. With the crown, it will be well over 200m.

someone should change the title then (>200m), so others don't get confused and therefore don't ask anymore. btw the crown showed in the renderings looks really great.

Actually the thread should be locked

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=712992

Its ssc policy that if there are duplicate threads, the first one started is the official one.

The Original thread is already in the high-rise section

Hm. Then close the other thread. Duplicate threads are indeed unnecessary.

It is a very beautiful building, specially the crowning peak which will defintly fit in the whole picture. NYC is absolutely the most beautiful city of skyscrapers on this planet.

The facade is so retro and can't find anything that matches the whole picture of that area better than this kind of recladding/choice of material, although it is a very new building, yet it eyes so 30's.
