I'm rather talking about the Arabian cultural sphere. Didn't want to split it into several single countries. I could have written "muslim countries", but that'd have collided with places in the far east that are quite different.

you just made it worse, nor persians or turks fall under the arabian cultural sphere, we are not arabs or speak arabic or have their mentality and customs, infact, many consider it insulting to be called that. prior to making such assumptions and lumping all the countries in a region under a single cultural domain, please do some research or have some background information about it

simply calling it the near east or the middle east would have been better

You're right about the last part, but I couldn't have included North African places then.

Please don't tell me I have to do research, I'm well aware of cultural influences in this region.
I was just comfortable doing this classification. Still looking for a better matching term. If you have one (other than Middle East), feel free to tell me.

if you were well aware you would never of summed up turks and persians under arabian culture

anyway, regarding that whole region, its generally called the middle east and north africa (mena)
