The best way to represent the UK's smaller towns and cities is to change the setup of the UK forum.

It needs to be arranged on a regional basis. This would also provide the option of multiple threads for large cities that currently have to make do with one thread in the projects and construction subforum.

Anyway, I'll get looking for some pics of Beverley.

St Albans looks lovely BTW.

I'm glad you didn't post a photo of Shrewsbury's ear, nose and throat hospital.

Unless you did and I just missed it.

telfordboy, is that last photo Shrewsbury Railway Station? I do hope it is, one of the finest I've seen, on a par with Huddersfield, Stoke-on-Trent or Chester Railway Stations.

We need some pics of three of the best English 'small cities', being Durham,Lancaster and York.

I'd do it but I have no time.

It is and its high quality on the outside. The inside leaves a bit to be desired bt it is going through a bit of an improvement at the moment.

Nice to see Chester,a great but often overlooked city of NW England because its overshadowed by nearby Liverpool and Manchester. I must visit soon. Not been in years.

Chester is great. We used to go down all the time in the summer to walk the walls, visit the Grosvenor Museum chat to the Roman soldier sitting outside the Cathederal. Haven't been for years though (other than to change trains) but will definately make the trip when I'm back up north.

Chester is a cracking little city, very picturesque and full of hidden gems in terms of restaurants and bars. The atmosphere on race day s brilliant because Chester racecourse is right in the city centre and therefore dominates when there is a race meeting.

Christmas is great in Chester because it is proper olde-England. Because the city centre is very small, it always feels very busy which is good considering the population of Chester isn't that much bigger than that of the nearby town of Ellesmere Port, which in itself has its charm, but I think only a native can see it....
