Thanks Jane. I would love to live in Bath too. The university is quite impressive, aside from being a hideous building on top of a hill, it has quite a reputation at the moment.

Thank you! It has been a while. I may go back to Bath when back in Bristol for Christmas. Stay tuned throughout December.

Bath is a wonderful city. It was a pleasure to be there in summer 2004 cause I did some studies at the university. Next Christmas I will visit again with my family and I'm crazy about the idea.

PART VI
Bath in Winter

So I hadn't been back to Bath since August 2009. I went back last Sunday with some uni friends to show them the city. Admittedly the weather wasn't great with rain setting in during the afternoon but Bath is beautiful whatever the weather. The major difference was the completion of the shopping centre at Southgate which was still under construction when I last visited. Enjoy!

Southgate seems spectacular. When I visited Bath first there was a horrible bus station and old ugly shops.

It is a massive improvement. I can't remember exactly what was there before but the bus station is brilliant too (as pictured in the first photo). Bristol should take some lessons from this redevelopment and style Broadmead like this.

Thanks very much. It was heaving, especially around the markets.

I think the view over the river is one of the nicest aspects of Bath.

It certainly is. Though I can't help but think that away from the Pulteney Bridge they could have made better use of the riverfront as it's largely unoccupied elsewhere.

Bath would be a lovely city to live near to - some very characterful english countryside and villages nearby. Thaks for the reminder.

Southgate is a big improvement to the rubbish old shops and bus station that used to be there, though not sure it would be the same in Bristol. I really love the design of Cabot Circus, to be honest.
