Kickoff for the first Algerian TGV 350 km / h: the longest line of TGV africa
Algeria wants to make a line high-speed rail between East and West. The National Agency of Studies and monitoring the implementation of railway investment (ANESRIF) began officially Tuesday, August 25, the procedures for the recruitment of specialized firms for the study of a TGV between the Algerian-Tunisian the Algerian-Moroccan border, about 12000 km, with an operating speed of 350 km / h.
The future TGV should be constructed parallel to the east-west, currently under construction. It will cross the wilayate Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Mascara, Relizane, Chlef, Ain Defla, Blida, Algeria, Medea, Djelfa, Laghouat, Ghardaia, Boumerdes, Bouira, Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif Constantine, Guelma, Skikda, Annaba and Tarf. Candidates interested in this study should submit their bids before October 25 this year, according ANESRIF. The construction of a TGV between east and west, with penetrating south, should help to significantly improve transport conditions and allow Algerians to Algeria to exceed its neighboring Morocco and Tunisia in infrastructure base. A motorway and TGV are key assets for attracting foreign investors and develop large areas of the country, now landlocked because of modern transportation. Furthermore, the ANESRIF has already initiated studies of new electrified rail lines operating speed of 220 kph, the speed used for all existing rail network and future.

I really like the Algerian trains, they are even better than many you will find in the developed world.

True, when I saw the photos of them I was amazed. They really are a perfect textbook example when it comes to railways...

They're not when it comes to rail transport!

You can compare the new infrastructure being built in those countries to any country in the world except for countries like France, Japan etc. (Who are the gods of Rail)

True Kwame, our rail system is not one to feel proud about but the new company called PRASA is coming with good things in terms of passenger rail.
