Yup. We in Sarawak have no problem with bilingual or trilingual signboard.

Prolintas opens mixed mode toll lanes
Published: 2011/02/07
http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_New...cle/index_html

Prolintas Expressway Sdn Bhd has opened mixed mode lanes at three toll plazas of the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE).

In a statement today, the highway concessionaire said all cash lanes at the Bukit Jelutong toll plaza had been upgraded to mixed mode lanes while four cash lanes at the Elmina and Lagong toll plazas had also been upgraded.

"Efforts to upgrade cash lanes were part of the move to improve toll plaza management in line with the company's intention to provide ease and convenience to users.

"The mixed mode lanes enable users to pay toll electronically at the toll plazas and will help smooth traffic movement especially during peak hours," Prolintas general manager Yang Sapuan Hashim said. -- Bernama

Toll at PJS2 plaza reduced to RM1
Friday February 18, 2011
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp...845&sec=nation

PETALING JAYA: The toll rate at the Petaling Jaya Selatan 2 (PJS2) toll plaza along the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) near Kampung Medan here will be lowered from RM1.60 to RM1 effective today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who announced this, said the reduction was a Chinese New Year gift to the residents in the area.

“This is another example of how we will do the best for the people of Selangor and Malaysia,” he said to applause from about 2,500 people at the Chap Goh Mei festival gathering organised by Selangor Barisan Nasional at Padang Taman Datuk Hormat PJS 10 yesterday.

The toll fee change takes effect from 12.01am today.

The RM1.2bil NPE, stretching 19.5km and opened on April 30, 2004, is managed by the concessionaire New Pantai Expressway Sdn Bhd.

This is the third toll rate cut Najib has announced since he tabled Budget 2011 last year.

On Jan 28, Najib announced there would be no toll increase for the next five years for the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway and East Coast Expressway Phase One.

He said the toll for the Salak to Taman Connaught stretch of the East-West Link Expressway would be abolished by May.

In the 2011 Budget tabled in October last year, Najib announced a five-year freeze on toll rates on four highways owned by Plus Expressway.

At the event yesterday, Najib handed 650 envelopes of RM200 cash each to the disabled, single mothers and senior citizens.

He said RM1.2bil had been given to the needy in the country but some people were not appreciative.

“The Opposition gave RM100 a year to each person (senior citizen) and there was much applause but we give more than the Opposition.

“This is because we run the country efficiently, we do not fight unnecessarily, we don’t leave the party, we don’t have special state assembly sittings which we know would not benefit the people,” he said.

New toll plaza to be built in Seremban
By SARBAN SINGH Thursday November 10, 2011
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp...688&sec=nation

SEREMBAN: A toll plaza will be built about 4.5km north of the Seremban toll plaza to help reduce congestion at the existing exit here, Works Minister Datuk Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor said.

He added that the present plaza was the first to be built some three decades ago when the North-South Expressway (NSE) was first opened.

“We need a new toll plaza as the existing one cannot cope with the volume of traffic. The existing toll plaza is also too close to the NSE, and when more vehicles enter Seremban, the queues will often cause a traffic snarl on the expressway,” he said after visiting the proposed site at Km267.5 of the NSE here yesterday.

He added that RM30mil would be used to acquire the land for the new toll plaza, which would cost RM160mil to build.

Shaziman said the new toll plaza will be located further away from the NSE and it would have more booths.

“I have also instructed the state Public Works Department to submit a proposal to upgrade the present plaza to ensure that there would be no traffic congestion into Seremban once the new toll plaza is opened,” he added.

Shaziman said the toll rates for motorists coming to the new toll plaza from Sungei Besi would be lower than the amount imposed at the Seremban plaza.

On a separate matter, Shaziman said Projek Lebuhraya Utara Selatan (PLUS) had been told to proceed with widening works on four stretches of the NSE from three to four lanes.

They are the Shah Alam-Bukit Lanjan route (17km); Bukit Lanjan-Jln Duta (8km); Bukit Lanjan-Rawang (16km) and Nilai Utara-Seremban (23km).

“Although PLUS is undergoing a restructuring exercise, we want them to complete these projects quickly for the benefit of motorists.”
