Thanks, JimB.
It's a big site, that's for sure. We should hear more at the AGM. |

How does this compare in size, say to the likes of Finch Farm?

![]() Never mind, I found it. Finch Farm is approx. 55 acres, with 10 full size grass pitches, and one synthetic pitch. The comparison bodes well for Tottenham.

Here's a couple of extracts from the Annual Report relevant to the Training Ground, due to open for the 2012-13 season.
"The facility is designed to be the best in Europe and will enable the Club to attract, develop and retain the highest quality talent. "The full list of completed works includes: • the grounds maintenance building • the installation of irrigation water extraction boreholes • the perimeter fencing and planting 75% complete • Desso pitch reinforcement and undersoil heating to main First Team pitches • First Team pitches complete and ready for seeding • Academy weekend pitches complete and ready for seeding • ecological zones planted • instant hedgerows and feature trees for main access road and parking areas procured • artificial pitch base and floodlighting bases • all site roads completed to base level • electrical substation and supply installed • water and fire hydrant supply installed • sheet piling foundations • basement building dig • swimming pool and basement area floors and walls cast • ground floor slabs cast and drainage • stone base installed for internal pitch [...] "The Club takes a responsible approach to the challenges of climate change. In addition to being a founding participant of 10:10, we have also embraced leading green technologies in the new Training Centre currently under construction. Notably, the new building will include an inter-seasonal Aquifer Thermal Energy Store (ATES). This will reduce the carbon emissions footprint by a 30% improvement on the minimum standard required and this will be one of the first uses of this type of technology in the UK." New Tottenham Hotspur academy and training g
Mh, looks good. But i would like a little command center as logo.
I think the people will associate the CC more with warzone then a nexified-drupal face. Mainly those, which dont know the FMVs. ______________________________________ Всем нравится прекрасная лошадь, но почему-то совершенно нет желающих ею стать.

I realise this is a year old, but here is an extract from the 2009 THFC Annual Report, which supplements information already given on this thread.
‘Work commenced on our new world-class Training Centre at Bulls Cross in Enfield. The 67 acre site will be the new home for the Club’s First Team and Youth Academy. It will also provide an additional base for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. ‘Our new Training Centre will feature: • 11 outdoor pitches - one artificial pitch and ten natural grass. The main pitch in the professional squad area will be designed to the same quality and design as the pitch proposed for the new stadium; complete with undersoil heating. • A two storey Training Centre has been designed by architects KSS to be an integral part of the landscape. The building has been designed around a 70 x 50m indoor artificial pitch which features a transparent ETFE roof similar to the EDEN project in Cornwall. • The building also incorporates a learning centre for the Academy, medical facilities, a hydrotherapy/swimming pool, fitness centre/gym, changing rooms, a restaurant and media centre. • Two further small buildings; a security building near the Whitewebbs Lane entrance and another small, single storey groundsman’s lodge in the far South West corner, for storage of pitch maintenance equipment and changing rooms for grounds staff. • Parking for 98 cars, five coaches and a number of cycle spaces. ‘Our new Training Centre will enable the Club to: - Attract, train and retain top quality players - Nurture and develop emerging talent - Bring a major investment to the Borough of Enfield along with £2.0m funding for community programmes - Deliver an iconic building sensitive to the environment and location.’ |

From the THFC official site:
Despite a long cold winter, good progress has continued to be made at our new training centre in Enfield - as these new pictures show. Over a year and a half into the works programme, the site project team has now completed the drainage work to all the pitches across the site including the First, Academy and Synthetic pitches. The DESSO pitch reinforcement and the Undersoil heating, as used in the pitch at White Hart Lane, has now been completed to the main First Team training pitches. Most importantly, the site of the main building is now starting to take shape with the basement excavation works and retaining structures now all in place. Additionally, the concrete structures for the basement swimming and hydrotherapy pool have been completed in preparation for installation, the ground floor slab has been laid and the concrete shear walls and columns on the ground floor have all been cast. From the Chairman's Statement in the interim financial results, reported on 31st March 2011:
'[...] the new Training Centre at Enfield is halfway through construction and on target to be opened in the summer of 2012. Construction work began on the main building of the new Training Centre in September 2010 and its progress can be tracked on the Future Plans section of the Club website.' |

While trying to find updates on this project, I came across this story from last month in the Enfield Independent paper. First I've heard of it. I've no idea how many extra pitches it will provide:
http://www.enfieldindependent.co.uk/..._for_approval/ Spurs training ground extension set for approval 11:31am Monday 18th April 2011 By Tristan Kirk » THE next step for Spurs' sprawling training centre and youth academy in north Enfield has been recommended for approval. Enfield Council officers have given the green light for land from the former Invicta cricket club, off Whitewebbs Lane, to be part of the new 67-acre centre. Tottenham began construction on the new centre in 2009, on former Green Belt land, which would be used by the senior squad, reserve players and Spurs' youth academy. The latest application is for extra football pitches for the centre, which is due to be completed in spring next year. The officers have recommended the plans are approved, and they are due to be brought before councillors for a final decision on Tuesday, April 26. |

Interesting, JimB, there's been no mention of this 'officially'.
Still, it can only be good: onwards and upwards... |

Finally, after more than three months, there's been an update to the training ground construction Gallery on the Future Plans section of the website. Maybe had something to do with someone emailing them yesterday to suggest that an update was overdue.
![]() Link: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/futu...e/gallery.html This someone might also have suggested that, from this point on, the website posted monthly updates on the construction. Hopefully, that will materialize too! Last edited by JimB; May 19th, 2011 at 08:25 PM. |

JimB, your influence knows no bounds...
The First Team management, coaching staff and players today (Friday) visited the site of our new world-class training centre at Bull’s Cross, Enfield. After being taken via coach around the perimeter of the first-team training pitches, the lads were given a guided walk-through of the main building, which is now taking starting to take shape. During the tour, they were able to view the structures that will become their changing rooms, the fitness and medical suite including the pool and gym, dining areas and relaxation lounges once the state-of-the-art facility opens next year. Harry Redknapp said: “Absolutely fantastic. What a facility for players to come and work in every day and for young players who are thinking about coming to Spurs. You won’t find a better training facility than this anywhere. It’s got everything a player would need – top class facilities and fantastic pitches. Hopefully we can create a great atmosphere around the place when we move here to match the facility.” Michael Dawson said: “It’s fantastic. It’s still a year away from being finished, but when you look at the plans and you see it already taking shape, you know it’s going to be special. We’re a top team and we need top facilities, and it will all be here, and the players are going to benefit from it.” The new world-class training centre, due for completion in 2012, will be the new home for the Club’s First Team and Youth Academy. It will also provide an additional base for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, the Club’s charity engaged in sport-related community work. The new state-of-the-art training centre will include: · 11 outdoor pitches - one artificial pitch and ten natural grass. The main pitch to the professional squad area will be designed to the same quality and design as the pitch proposed for the New Spurs Stadium; complete with undersoil heating. · A two storey training centre, which also has a basement, which has been designed by architects KSS to be an integral part of the landscape. The building has been designed around a 70 x 50m indoor artificial pitch which features a transparent ETFE roof similar to the EDEN project in Cornwall. · The building also incorporates a learning centre for the Academy and educational space, medical facilities, a hydrotherapy / swimming pool, fitness centre/gym, changing rooms, a canteen and media centre.
