I completely don't understand why when it comes to skyscrapper, the main thing that cross our mind is office building. Now they start to claim that office building in Malaysia is over supply.

Burj-Khalifa is a perfect example. Office+Hotel+Residences+etc = 828m.

Who knows our Merdeka Tower will be build this way.

Well, New York, London and Sydney has build more offices and yet all of them are fully utilized. Until we find suitable tenants like Bank of America, Nova Scotia Bank, Wal Mart, Target etc. KL must stop building offices and instead why not promote the project to overseas like US and UK like what UK and Australia is now promoting to attract investors.

Yes there is a GLUT of office and retail space.

However, there is a severe shortage of Grade A office towers in KL. What you see today is mostly developers building Green-Rated Grade A offices.

Over time, multinational corporations will move to better buildings. I heard some buildings in KL have very poor broadband/Internet and fax line. This is Very Bad.

However, over time, there'll add to the GLUT of total office space. Thus, I call upon old building owners to upgrade or redevelop please! Such as Menara Cosway, former Bangunan MAS, Boustead Building, Wisma Equity, Bangunan Getah Asli, Menara KH (fka Promet Tower), and so so many more. All these can retain their current tenants.

Newer buildings should ATTRACT new investors to set up offices in Malaysia, which I've seen and heard some, but NOT ENOUGH. Recently, Google set up their office in KLCC, Coca-Cola set up their Malaysia office in KL CBD, and several companies from ASEAN, Taiwan, Singapore, Europe. We need more!!!

Don't forget new companies in Malaysia are also increasingly attracted to suburban areas especially Mid Valley City, Bangsar, Damansara, Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya. PayPal and UNIQLO recently came into Malaysia with new offices in Bandar Utama. Oracle Corp moved their offices to The Gardens Mid Valley City.

btw, one must know that PNB holds 31% of SP Setia. if SP Setia is 'allowed' to build office space, why can't PNB?

That is because the public do not see the inner workings of the companies but plans announced by politicians. Should PNB wanna built this thing, they should just go ahead with the announcement thru their traditional method and not announcing it via the PM and the 10th Malaysia plan or something.

It is incredible that you've dedicate 13 of your total 15 posts to say "Bla, bla, bla,...shut yr mouth. ...only know how to talk, talk, talk" to my posts.

I did not do anything to you at all and I wonder why you did this. I just kindy replied to your posting a couple of hours ago and this? I also know who you are Victor Lau and I suggest you see a shrink.

You've got a big problem there and I suggest you sort it out with your ex-bosses at Ivory and bring your battle elsewhere. Thanks and hastalavista baby!

I think what he is talking right now makes some sense. If you have nothing to say, don't comment and post it.

from original source of planned Sg buloh-kajang MRT line,

image hosted on flickr

seems like underground station (connected by dashes line which is underground tunnel i guess) is probably integrated with tower like KLCC. btw, next to merdeka station there's interchange station, for what? since MRT would be have its own station integrate with KL Sentral? Commuters from kelana jaya line could make it via kl sentral.
