Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects Company has recently announced the signing of an agreement worth 9.8 million Jordanian Dinars with Abu Eisheh and Brothers Contracting Company for Taj Mall's finishing works package. The contractor has been classified by the Ministry of Public Affairs and Housing, Contractors Association and Governmental Tendering Directorate, as a first class contractor in the field of building construction and has been awarded the contract for the implementation of the finishing works related to Taj Mall.

Mr. Halim Salfiti, Chairman of Tajamouat Company for Touristic Projects signed the agreement with Mr. Khalil Abu Eisheh, Chairman of Abu Eisheh Contracting Company, The ceremony was attended by representatives from Allied Planning and Engineering Cooperation, the construction manager of the project along with Arabtech Jardaneh, the provider of design and technical supervision services.

On this occasion Mr. Halim Salfiti commented: "Today marks a milestone achievement for "Taj". With the signing of this agreement Al Tajamouat concludes the awarding process of all construction contracts whereby all work packages required to complete the construction phase of the project were awarded to local and international contractors thus ensuring a comprehensive framework that reflects our commitment to implement the project works with the highest standards and achieve world class results."

Mr. Salfiti added: "Now we enter the final stage of the building construction phase of "Taj" and we foresee tangible and promising outcomes in the upcoming period".

The agreement embraced a comprehensive finishing works package ensuring state of the art standards. The contractor's scope of work will involve sophisticated floor and ceiling finishes as well as special finishes for the interior and exterior elevations in accordance with the architectural design provided by the world known American design firm, F & A Design Consultants which has a recognizable portfolio in designing high end malls in the USA and the Middle East, especially the UAE.

Taj Mall is envisioned to primarily be an upscale retail and lifestyle development consisting of a multi purpose facility catering for a wide spectrum of tenants with the main objective of entertaining and serving clients through a pioneering approach and diversified services including cinemas, bowling alleys, advanced arcade centers, retail outlets, food courts, kids' zones, restaurants, and cafes in addition to retail stores and a large supermarket. With the investment of more than 120 million Jordanian Dinars and the total floor area of 150,000 squared meters, Taj Mall will be Jordan's newest investment combining a unique blend of architectural design and innovative services.

Amman: "Taj" owned by Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects Company, announces the agreement for the opening of Spinneys at Taj. Mr. Halim Salfiti, Chairman of Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects, signed the agreement with Mr. Michael Wright, the CEO of Spinneys on the 30th of September 2009.

Spinneys, the premier retailer in the Middle East and North Africa will be operating a 5,000 square meters supermarket at the "Taj Mall", offering a high quality products, superior service and highly competitive prices.

Mr. Salfiti stated: "With the successful completion of this agreement, Spinneys will be our major supermarket anchor, with a considerable allocated area offering a large variety of products to meet the needs of all our future clients. i'm shocked to hear that there is no spinneys yet in jordan....lol !!! even syria got a f**kin spinneys back in 2007 !!! there is a spinneys here in lebanon in every city!!!

Abdoun is located in Amman but is an upscale residential/ commercial area to the south of the centre of town.

What is so special about Spinney's? I think there used to be a Spinney's in Mafraq more than 50 years ago for people who worked on the pipeline

AMMAN - Four banks signed on Monday a JD40 million long term debt facility.

Led by the Housing Bank, the JD40 million syndicate finance package is granted to Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects plc.

The syndicate which was led by the Housing bank for Trade and Finance with participations from Union Bank, HSBC and Egyptian Arab Land Bank, will be directed towards Al Tajamouat's upcoming retail and leisure development in Abdoun- Taj Mall.

The agreements were signed by chief personnel representing the banks, and Halim Salfiti, the chairman of the board of Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects plc.

The Chairman of the Housing Bank Micheal Marto said in a time when the real estate sector is still suffering a slowdown, Taj Mall stood out to be among the most unique touristic projects with a strong shareholder base, artistic architectural design, and healthy cash flows.

He added that the Housing Bank has successfully structured and raised the funding, thanks to the invaluable support of the participant banks.

" We are confident that this facility will effectively complement the already established foundations of Taj Mall, and look forward to continuing our support to large-scale projects in Jordan." he added.

Salfiti for his part thanked all of the banks and the people involved in concluding the finance package and relayed his deep gratitude for their confidence in Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects.

"We are grateful to have gained the trust and support of renowned banks in Jordan.

This will be a sufficient resource for Taj's internal capabilities, encouraging its completion according to schedule, he said.

Al Tajamouat for Touristic Projects plc is listed on the Amman Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "MERM".

The company’s major shareholders are Unicorn Investment Bank and Specialized Investment Compounds plc, a company listed on the Amman Stock Exchange under the symbol "SPIC".

The company is currently developing Taj Mall.

Yes construction has started at least a year ago if not more and the mall seems to be well on its way to opening I think. I passed by it the other day and the structure was half painted with yellow paint so it seems work is going ahead.

they still need to finish the interior work and they will be delivering the stores in no time !!!
