Just got this news, Lim is partnering with lacuna for the next elections. Other pairings include Isko Moreno and Naida Angping, and get his Erap Estrada and Lito Atienza for the mayorship of Manila. I dont know what to think about this.

Its interesting that the old jones bridge is ALOT more grandier than the chinese one. Too bad world war 2 and filipino stupid politics ruined manila entirely:

God bless the city of manila. May only a true miracle can save you..

the Chinese one is a ripoff of (mmmkay, you can say "inspired by") Pont Alexandre III of Paris, see the details:

The Jones does have its own level of classiness. It's sad though, our generation can only see its beauty on black and white photographs.

Statue on the Jones Bridge...

I think these are the only structures from the Bridge that survived World War II..

La Madre Filipina Statue, now in Luneta Park..

And the one now standing at the entrance of the Court of Appeals Building...

Maybe these two are waiting to be installed once again to their original locations at the foot of the Jones Bridge..sana nga..

how about they rebuild the whole neo-classical bridge, but ask new sculptors to create something new, something that can resemble the new age filipino spirit but still in neo-classical styling. Co-existence of the old and new, this is how I see Manila. NAAAAKS!

This is truly an elegant bridge. I hope the government could restore its beauty and elegance

Naku matanda na si Mayor Lim. And I think what Manila needs is a visionary and a doer mayor, a mayor who has Manila always in his heart, yun bang kumbaga gagawin niya ang Manila as the capital of the country that every Filipino is proud of - a clean, safe, business-friendly, environment-friendly and a "bread and butter"(opportunities for all) city, a mayor that could regain the city's lost elegance
