Unless its built in a place where it's meant to be cheesy (like Las Vegas), it just doesn't work

Isn't there some cost benefit to the gold in the Royal Bank glass when it comes to maintaining the interior temperature of the building. I'm sure I read that somewhere.

My instinctual reaction to gold is that it is gaudy and vulgar, but Royal Bank certainly isn't either. It's forced me to re-evaluate my general position with regards to gold in design.

Just like in jewellery, there are different types of gold. There is beautiful jewellery,
and then there is bling.

^gold is an efficient insulator. lower air con costs.

gold cladding may be seen as tacky. but it does serve a practical purpose with these large buildings.

Insulator?! Not at all...
Maybe you mean that it is reflective, just like any other metal.

RBT is probably the best example of gold cladding on a high rise i will admit. Not as bad as the rest at all. Its not the best, but most indefinably not the worst
