Church of st. Marry in Voćin, Croatia

Built in 15th century in gothic style. It survived Ottoman occupation, few fires and Allied bombing in World War 2. It was finally destroyed in 1991. by Serbs during the war for Croatian Independence. It was blown up with dynamite leaving only one fraction of wall standing. It's reconstruction was finished in 2011.

Church after World War 2

Church after Serbian aggression on Croatia

Serbian orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas in Karlovac, Croatia

Completed in 1787, began with worships in 1803. The church was devastated during World War II, and then again in 1991, during the War in Croatia, when mines were detonated inside the church by Croatian forces. The church was repeatedly blown up and robbed until final destruction in 1993.

The facility was completely renovated in 2007.

Vukovar 24 years after:

Castle Eltz (Photo shows main building that was fully reconstructed along with few other smaller buildings that belonged to family Eltz)

Grand Hotel (interior is not yet finished)

Church and monastery of st. James

Interior (We hope that it's original paintings will be restored one day. Main altar was also restored that replaced the wooden cross on newer photo)

County palace

Gymnasium

--

Most of the city has been fully reconstructed but it's hard to find proper photos that aren't small in size, and have decent quality, so these are the best examples. For example I can't find large photos of Orthodox church before it's reconstruction. Unfortunately large amount of old buildings have been demolished, but as long as their land plot remains empty we hope they will be reconstructed.

Actually I think it's a modern adition, designed in the same style. That small building is used for candle burning, as there's a trend in Serbian churches to kick out the candles because their smoke is damaging the frescoes and making them dirty.

What about this? I don't know, windows look a little larger too, but it might just be perspective.

Thank you
Yeah, I was referring to the building in the background, but I'm happy to learn about the small candle-burning building too!
I guess the Assembly building suffered some damage too... So I was wondering if it was just repaired, or completely rebuilt. Or maybe it was lucky and didn't receive any damage at all

The part of the fortress shown here is the central tower, which is being reconstructed, and they want to open it for tourists in 2018. Don't know about the rest of the fortress, but I think they will gradually reconstruct it since it would be very expensive to reconstruct it at once.
